Time magazine is out with a colorful and glossy “Inside the New Cuba” special edition, featuring smiling Cuban kids wearing Communist garb on the cover. Page 64 has a photo showing “Cuban fans” holding up “their national flag” at a baseball game. It turns out that the really happy Cubans are those who have been defecting from the island “paradise,” as Time magazine calls the prison camp country.

Credit goes to Christine Rousselle of Townhall.com for covering these defections. They seem to be developing into a regular feature, with Rousselle providing regular updates about additional defections.

So far, eight players from the Cuban men’s field hockey team, four rowers from the Cuban national team, and two members of the Cuban soccer team have defected.

America’s Enemies Are Laughing at Us....I’ve read articles from Lemonde, Figaro, etc. for years. They have been laughing at us since the election of the Mocha Messiah and his Muslim minions we first elected.

Not surprising. So many of Obama’s appointments and secret Czars remind me of characters in the Star Wars bar scene.
Odd characters, some with odd names’ Plouffe, Harf, Messina, Susan (paidliar) Rice, who has served the president ‘with honor and distinction’. John Kerry, an embellishment of a heavily embroidered exaggeration.’Jeh” Johnson, who has ‘never heard of’ Kate Steinle...The dishonorable Eric Holder, straight out prejudiced against anyone who is not black, cherry picking which laws he will and won’t enforce.

Stupid Time reporter aside, I lukewarmly endorse increasing relations with Cuba. Cuba is collapsing, especially because Venezuela is collapsing. If we didn't step in to become their big buddy, either Russia or China would have, and I'd rather not have a Chinese colony right off the coast.

Hopefully by having closer contact we can change things there.
