A preliminary hearing began Monday morning for four men charged in the attempted robbery and killing of a Shawnee gun store co-owner earlier this year.
Soon after it started, Deanthony A. Wiley, 20, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and indicated he would plead guilty later. The hearing continued for the other three defendants.
Jon Bieker was fatally shot during an attempted robbery and shootout that also wounded three of the defendants Jan. 9 at She’s A Pistol, the gun store owned by Bieker and his wife, Becky Bieker.
The defendants — Wiley, Londro E. Patterson III and Nicquan K. Midgyett, all 20, and Hakeem W. Malik, 18 — are charged in Johnson County District Court with first-degree felony murder, attempted aggravated robbery, conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery and aggravated battery.

According to court documents, the video shows suspects entering the store and pointing guns at Becky Bieker, who gets punched and knocked to the floor.
Jon Bieker comes from a back room and appears to fire a weapon, according to the documents. Three of the robbers flee out the door. One remains on the floor. As Jon Bieker approaches him, Bieker appears to get shot. He falls to the floor.
Becky Bieker can be seen on the video firing a weapon in the direction of the robber on the floor.

The entire ridiculous #blacklivesmatter movement is founded on a lie: that somehow blacks are victims of whites all the time. The exact reverse is statistically the truth, but the media does not report these facts, either in the particular, or in the aggregate.
Any individual white-on-black crime becomes a national story, and is used to demonize and indict the entire white race.
The much more frequent black-on-white crime stories and limited to local media coverage, and absolutely no generalizations are made from them.
Even much of the so-called Conservative media is part of this ongoing coverup. John Derbyshire's firing by National Review over posting a quite pithy and moderate piece in response to weeks of provocation about "the talk" that black parents have to give their kids about white cops, that firing was only the most visible symbol of the Conservatism Inc. complicity in the coverup.
It's gratifying that Free Republic has evolved to the point we can at least talk about this. Kudo's to American Thinker for hosting Colin Flaherty's work on the matter.
