My Dad and I used to watch the Jackie Gleason Show. Dad turned 90 last June, but his memory is not so good and I don't have anybody to share these memories with anymore. So I thought someone on free republic might have some.

From the Sun and Fun Capital of the World...Miami Beach!
The Jackie Gleason was so good in so many ways, but even more of a cut above when Art Carney was on the same stage.
They did a great deal of fun stuff on their Flakie Wakie Cereal World Tour.

Along with Gleason (on Saturday night) was the Show of Shows, and Ed Sullivan on Sunday night. It was an innocent and trusting era, too bad everything got to be so wonderful like it is today. :>( I have to laugh at people who post our time now is so wonderful compared to the 50’s, when they weren’t even there. (On Liberal sites, not this one.)

I ordered several of the “Honeymooner” series of TV shiws from Amazon. The good ones are in Black and White and are great to watch when you want some real comedy.
