As more mass is added to your black hole, all the orbiting points are captured inside the event horizon and it explodes. Don’t know what the heck what that has to do with reality.

Hmm, not really, but I’ve got a ring of 300 particles orbiting a black hole. Looks stable, been running about 30 min.

The metallic-looking thing is a paper tape reader. Those yellow things under the console are fan-folded punched paper tapes.
Mr. Russell has gained weight since he developed Spacewar! on that machine (a DEC PDP-1) in 1961.
You can play Spacewar! here, on a PDP-1 emulator written in JavaScript.
