Given what my Bible tells me, humans are IT for intelligent life and the Earth is IT for life.

Not to get into a religious debate, because I believe in God, and am a Christian, but when the Bible was written, we still thought the earth was flat, and that the Sun revolved around the earth.

Science gives us the ability to better see God’s wonders.
Knowing now how almost infinite the universe is I can’t believe Earth is God’s only life giving planet.
He gave us eyes to see, and a mind capable of learning, growing, and understanding for a reason.

My dear rikkir, I don't believe you have a good grasp on the historicity of the Bible. You make a comment that, "...when the Bible was written, we still thought the earth was flat...". Are you suggesting the Bible says the Earth is flat? Take a read of Isaiah 40:21-22, Job 26:7, Job 26:10 or Psalm 8:27. Job is considered one of the oldest, if not the oldest book in the Bible, written long before Pythagoras suggested a spherical Earth in the 6th century BC, yet it identifies the Earth as a 'circle'. The ancient Hebrew word used, 'חוג' (chuwg), can also mean 'sphere' or 'round'.

You write that, "Knowing now how almost infinite the universe is I can’t believe Earth is God’s only life giving planet." Try watching Louie Giglio (God and The Universe). Our planet is unique in the galaxy, designed specifically for human life.

I agree with your statement that, "He gave us eyes to see, and a mind capable of learning, growing, and understanding for a reason.", but we disagree on that reason! We have those gifts so that we can more appreciate all He has done for us, how He created a universe for us to marvel at, how, as children of the King, he rewarded us with far more beautiful and amazing things, than we can ever imagine, to show us how much He loves us and how unique and how sepecial we are to Him!

You obviously haven’t read God’s word.

“when the Bible was written, we still thought the earth was flat, and that the Sun revolved around the earth. ... Science gives us the ability to better see God’s wonders.”

Even though the Bible was penned by men who had little understanding of the way the the Lord made the universe, He was the Author.

The Levitical laws, for instance: People had no concept of germs or bacteria until recent history. But Leviticus says not to eat from a broken plate, but to throw it out. The reason is that bacteria will grow in the crack. Mankind had no concept of bacterial contamination until “modern” times. But there was the caution, for thousands of years, before we understood it.

The Psalms say the Lord forms us in the inward parts, “woven” together. We now know what DNA looks like. We are, literally, woven together. But we had no idea how literal that was until science could describe it.

The writers of Scripture did not have to understand everything they were writing. The Lord moved them to write, and they wrote beyond their understanding.

My guess is that the universe is teaming with life. That is because that is what God is like. He is a joyful Creator! Intelligent life? I have no idea. We aren’t told either way.

The day that a probe returns a microbial sample proving the existence of life on another planet will not shake my faith one bit. On the contrary, I will say, “Science, what took you so long?”

If God created the universe and earth, then any other planet out there with life wouldn't be any more advanced than us.......

So it's going to be a really, really long time before we meet each other...........
