BTW, when I say inexpensive...I mean comparatively. It’s still out of my price range, but I may start saving for one.

The 6.5 Creedmoore would be a good choice. Kind of heavy though. Might want to put a muzzle brake on it.

Not yet.;-)

It comes in .308 Win. with a 20" barrel, 6.5 mm Creedmoor with a 24" barrel and .243 Win. with a 26" barrel. Not sure which would be my fave.

Check out this video...Ruger Precision Rifle. It goes over the rifle in detail...pretty interesting.

The stock folds/locks to the side so the bolt slides out the rear.
