I saw one of the good professor’s concerts in college. Amazing.

Not exactly modern but the Really Filthy Baroque Period had its merits.

This is the Modern Music Ping List. Our topic is music from the 20th and 21st century, from Ravel and Shostakovich through to the Synth Pioneers and beyond.

Topic suggestions are always welcome, and pings to music-related threads are appreciated.

FReepmail or reply to this post to be added to or removed from this list.

Lots of P.D.Q. Bach selections are on youtube now. Very recently added.

“Quodlibet” remains my favorite. The LP cover lists all the pirated originals used to create this Franken-piece.

I’m not really filthy, but I am baroque.

He descended on a rope in the performance I saw too! He’s a total laugh riot. I think my favorite (it’s hard to choose) has to be the Beethoven 5th with a sport commentator speaking while the orchestra is performing!

Actually, I can get a lot of classical music on line. But who can sit in a little computer/office cubicle listening to the music for any length of time without fanny fatigue or one's back going out!

Hausfrau duties take me elsewhere throughout the house during the mornings and afternoons, and I can't turn the volume high as I'm in a condo with neighbors on the other side of the wall.

You'd think my area of Florida could support one single classical FM station, but no soap.....gloom.
