Someone mentioned a week or two ago that Amazon has not actually started making money yet. Does anyone know if this is true? I was a bit shocked...
I managed to snag and IPad mini.
55 gallon drums of passion lube?? Is this what America has become? I want to believe this is a joke.
Smells like a complete fraud to me.
Well maybe there's a market for that in San Francisco.
The sale prices looked good to me, I was just too late to the party.
I was underwhelmed.
I was hoping for some camping gear sales.
Nuthin’
Zippo.
We were expecting Amazon to add a special Prime discount to our Wish List items. Or at least to items that we’ve expressed an interest in or at least clicked on. We don’t just buy stuff because it’s a good deal, we buy what we want and need. FAIL.
One of the reason I like shopping on Amazon is to avoid the sale/discount/clearance bull squeeze that is the retail shopping experience today.
I suspect PrimeDay was mostly a big clearance sale in disguise. They put up a handful of laptops (for example) as loss leaders to get people to see the crap (55 gallon drum of Passion Lube) they wanted to liquidate.
It was great if they were discount-selling what you wanted.
I ordered a small gun safe for the car, but no discount. Looked around other sales for a few minutes, was startled to see a tablet computer for $40 - impressive that it’s possible but nothing I’d actually want to use - but nothing else of real interest. Checked my wish list twice, but nothing on sale.
Meh.
I didn’t see anything I wanted!
I didn’t see anything I wanted!
I found it to be a lot like black friday.
Fifty five gallons of lube on the web
Fifty five gallons of lube...
He takes a mouse
To the bathhouse
Fifty four gallons of lube on the web....
Good thing Amazon pulled the Confederate flag sales...in time to boost their cheesy BlackFriday/Prime sales. /s
I didn’t find anything I wanted...
Not one item.
And I buy from Amazon constantly.
I checked out their website yesterday.
It looked like one of those ‘auction’ websites. The ‘good’ items had already sold out. I didn’t want to spend hours clicking through their upcoming bid items.
Walmart’s website wasn’t much better. They had a few deals, if they were items a person wanted. Otherwise, most items were at their regular price.

One thing I have notice with Amazon Prime for a couple of years — many of the items that qualify for AP shipping are priced higher than the same items on other websites. That causes me to wonder what the ‘draw’ is to have AP — other than their streaming video offerings.

Both Amazon and Walmart websites had some glitches yesterday, too.
We bought some COQ10, a double-edged razor and stand, a 4 blade razor for traveling, a Roomba and some allergy meds.
Good deals.
It was terrible, just cleaning out the goods with cobwebs.
