Obama: Federal gov't will integrate races into wealthy communities

President Obama said Saturday he will use the power of the federal government to pressure communities to integrate low-income minorities into affluent areas.

Obama said his administration is implementing a new rule that will require communities to frequently review the racial and socio-economic makeup of local neighborhoods and regularly report the results to the federal government.

"Just a few weeks ago, the Supreme Court ruled that policies segregating minorities in poor neighborhoods, even unintentionally, are against the law," Obama said, referencing a ruling on the Fair Housing Act largely ignored by the media due to attention on the Obamacare and gay marriage rulings.

The Fair Housing Act was passed under President Lyndon B. Johnson to initiate his failed "Great Society," which sought to eliminate poverty through a series of government programs. Critics charge that its programs, which included housing projects in cities and welfare payments to single mothers, led to the destruction of the black family.

"In some cities, kids living just blocks apart lead incredibly different lives," said Obama in his weekly Saturday address. "They go to different schools, play in different parks, shop in different stores and walk down different streets."

"And often, the quality of those schools and the safety of those parks and streets are far from equal — which means those kids aren't getting an equal shot in life," he said.

Besides the regular reports from local communities, Obama mentioned one other specific way his administration plans to equalize neighborhoods.

"We're using data on housing and neighborhood conditions to help cities identify the areas that need the most help," he said. By opening this data to everyone, Obama argued "everyone in a community — not just elected officials –— can weigh in. If you want a bus stop added near your home, or more affordable housing nearby, now you'll have the data you need to make your case."

The Department of Housing and Urban Development issued a ruling Wednesday that would withhold funding from communities if they fail to provide data on racial segregation patterns, set goals and track results.

"This overreaching new regulation is an attempt to extort communities into giving up control of local zoning decisions and reengineer the makeup of our neighborhoods," Rep. Paul Gosar, R., Ariz., said as he introduced several pieces of legislation designed to prevent the implementation of the new HUD rule.

"Local government is designed so people can have an input on those things that matter most to them," Rick Manning, the president of Americans for Limited Government, said in an interview with CNN. "The federal government is ill-equipped to superimpose their vision of what local communities should look like, because they don't have their fingers on the pulse of those communities."

"Just as the president has used the DOJ, IRS and DHS as a political weapon, he has now expanded his arsenal to include HUD as a way of punishing neighborhoods that don't fall in line with his liberal agenda," said Gosar.

You know this is what he would like to do.

Since this “policy” is going to occur it is time that Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, West Los Angeles, Encino and Tarzana get their quota of Section 8 Negroes.

"Unintentional integration"? Isn't that a subconscious thought crime? The Supreme Court just turned the sci-fi movie Minority Report into reality.

If there are no neighborhoods that are nicer places to live, how can anyone aspire to live in a nicer place? This is insanity.

Example: LeBron's house in Miami is for sale. Wouldn't it make a real excellent half-way house?

Better yet, seize her estate under eminent domain and convert it into public housing.

Obama doesn’t have enough time left to build a house let alone do this

Pretty much. Of course, I believe my tag line more than ever, so the point is kinda moot.

I was a product of the busing craze in the 90s. I was bused from a predominantly white part of the county to a predominantly black part of the county to attend a “magnet school.”

They bused the black kids from the inner city out to the rural schools where I went. They didn't want to be there. They didn't want to ride a bus for an hour each way. And they didn't want to be away from their neighborhood friends.

They tore up our school. They started fights trying to get kicked out of school. It was not a good situation.

I had another thought, reading what you read. Public transportation. Lower income residents need it, or they need stores and services within walking distance to provide the things they need.

Who's going to pay for that?

"Busing" was the beginning of the end for public education. As you both note, it destroyed the schools that actually worked in both parts of town. Black students and white students both suffered. It caused substantial money to be diverted from paying teachers to buying iron.

The judge who started it all remarked on his death bed that busing was an utter failure and it was the stupidest decision he'd ever made.

Too little, too late. We are living with the consequences of that decision.

Countless millions of inner city residents would be relocated into more affluent or suburban areas

Maybe not.

The goal has been to make suburban living outrageously expensive. And they are going to do that by denying "Urban Development" funds.

The relocation is going to be out of the suburban sprawl and back into the urban landscape with its new affordable housing.

Consider these earlier discussions:

The Progressives’ War on Suburbia Obama and the Democrats have embraced the argument that suburbs and sprawl are bad for you. As the last election demonstrated, this is no way to get elected. You are a political party, and you want to secure the electoral majority. But what happens, as is occurring to the Democrats, when the damned electorate that just won’t live the way—in dense cities and apartments—that you have deemed is best for them?

Regionalism: Obama’s Quiet Anti-Suburban Revolution It is part of a broader suite of initiatives designed to block suburban development, press Americans into hyper-dense cities, and force us out of our cars. Government-mandated ethnic and racial diversification plays a role in this scheme, yet the broader goal is forced “economic integration.” The ultimate vision is to make all neighborhoods more or less alike, turning traditional cities into ultra-dense Manhattans, while making suburbs look more like cities do now. In this centrally-planned utopia, steadily increasing numbers will live cheek-by-jowl in “stack and pack” high-rises close to public transportation, while automobiles fall into relative disuse. To understand how HUD’s new rule will help enact this vision, we need to turn to a less-well-known example of the Obama administration’s regionalist interventionism.

Obama’s Plan to Depopulate the Suburbs However, this type of publicity would not have been good for the swing voters living in America’s suburbs in the 2012 election. Obama’s people had the video scrubbed as well as the search engine links. However, the Breitbart people retained a copy of the picture. This begs the question, if the Building One America plan is so good for America, then why would the Obama people conceal his affiliation with Krulig and his group of Agenda 21 social engineers? Kruglik’s Agenda 21 Building One America group proposes the creation of a regional tax-base sharing revenues in which suburban tax money is directly redistributed to nearby cities and economically depressed concentric zones of inner-ring suburbs. Building One America also seeks to move the poor out of cities by imposing mandatory low-income-housing quotas for middle-class suburban developments. Here the plans of the Building One America proponents (e.g. Senior White House adviser Valerie Jarrett). Video at link.

They will use the Regional Tax base

Krulig’s group also seeks to export the controversial regional tax-base sharing scheme currently in place in the Minneapolis–St. Paul area to the rest of the country. Under this program, a portion of suburban tax money flows into a common regional pot, which is then effectively redistributed to urban, and a few less well-off “inner-ring” suburban, municipalities. The Minneapolis-St. Paul area regional government is run by unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats (i.e. Commissars) who are out of control. It is critical to know that removing the election process from this Agenda 21, wealth redistribution endeavor was deliberate for reasons that will become obvious as the reader will discover.
