PS We have been working for several years now to ensure that there is plenty of oil in our lamps....spiritual and physical. ;-)

People that do not prepare are like liberals: They seem all nice and peaceful until they don’t have what they want then they become violent.

History shows when people start to starve, or think they will, they demand those capable of violence to use that violence to take from those that have what they want.

A quick outline of my idea for a worst case scenario is, to show a hard face at first, to allow the weak and unprepared to go to the government centers without letting them suck me dry just to indulge them for a week or two.

As things play out, personalities emerge, and the weakest and most irresponsible, the leaches, are at the stadiums and emergency camps being taken care of, then as things settle down, I will evaluate the people remaining, and try to help them, and contribute to their making it.

Of course in short term little 3 day emergencies I would always be a good neighbor, and am, I have extra batteries and flashlights and encouraging words and friendly visits for that sort of thing.

If martial law is imposed...once people go to any camp, they will most likely be confined there (for their own good is what they will be told). If you know your neighbors, and they are pretty much good people, advise them NOT to go to any camp. We will head to the woods rather than go to such....and God will assist us.

People go to the camps here, when the fires are big enough to destroy their homes.

It happens frequently in America.

After yesterday if you are not out buying more food you are just not thinking. You know the expression “we need a bigger boat?” Now its “we need a bigger pantry” :-)

I'm all for preparedness, but I do not share his childish analysis of what the future might bring.

We have only to watch Europe a little longer and we'll find out exactly what the future might bring. However, one should also assume that big problems in Europe can migrate to the US rather quickly.

This article contains non-stop insults, then gets to his point: this guy advocates killing preppers and stealing their stuff.

De-humanize the target, destroy the target & plunder the target’s stuff. Gee, that sounds familiar.

The Nazi is strong with that one.

It’s a product of the learned helplessness that authoritarian regimes inculcate in those whom they would rule like cattle.

I think that some preppers will not be really free because they are not willing to share reasonably with other good people as they put God first.

Is that the same as "fair share?"

I suppose that would depend on how you define “fair share.”

My definition was to share based on faith in God and the gift of reason that He gave us.

I have asked for my reason to be enlightened by Wisdom. God is trustworthy...and He is the only refuge we have in the days to come. They will not be pretty days but He will get us through them and clean up this nation.

Pray for our country with great sincerity.

Be careful of advertised prepper meet ups. Some might be ok. I went to one where nearly 100 people came. This was even sponsored by a “preacher” and his family, and was held at their church compound out in a large wooded area of several acres. The speakers were trying to sell stuff—overpriced prepper buckets filled with dime store crap that wouldn’t get you through 3 days; plus a lot of items like grain mills and fire starters that you can buy online much cheaper. They were taking orders; obviously planning to just order the items and resell to naive country folks at a huge markup. We were also to sign up for prepper classes on their website. As my skepticism was growing, I stepped outside and checked the website on my on my device. The website immediately asked for credit card information before giving out any info about anything. No way!! Back inside, my skepticism turned to outright alarm. Next speaker was a guy claiming to be from Homeland Security regaling us with tales of past disasters. I remember he mentioned truckloads of supplies being hijacked during Katrina. Then the preacher spoke again, telling us he’d had “dreams and visions”of making his compound available as a “refugee camp.” So IOW these folks were looking to sponsor a FEMA camp to rake in a pile of government cash. I beat it out of there.
IMO you’re better off asking discreetly people you already know. If you go to a meetup where you don’t know anyone, listen and ask questions, but avoid divulging info about yourself.
