Amazing seeing these WW II era weapons being used in Syria. I posted a link to another YouTube video showing what one Freeper identified as a German 105 MM mountain howitzer from WW II.

I wonder what these weapons would sell for in the US. It would of probably been better if they could of sold them then acquired cheaper assault rifles like the AK-47. Is getting the Kurz 7.92X33 difficult?

Collectors who own these weapons make their own ammo.Case head is the same as 7.92x57 or .30-06.Form and trim dies are available from RCBS and I think Speer makes a suitable weight bullet.

An actual operating stg44 would sell at action for well over 6k. That is a guess.

Not big on marksmanship, are they?

Waste of ammo.

East Germany and Russia sold these and other WW2 German weapons around the world. E Germany made ammo for them, and it is still commercially made in several countries. A good (registered) StG here will bring anywhere from $25-50,000, depending on condition and how bad the buyer wants it. These are the rifle Kalashnikov copied the AK-47 from, or maybe Hugo Schmeisser, the original designer, who was held in the USSR after the war, designed it, and the Russkis gave Kalashnikov the credit as propaganda.

I think that the overall length of 7.62x39 would prevent it’s use in the existing mags and magazine well of the weapon.Plus the bolt heads would all have to be replaced since the case head on 7.62x39 is way smaller than 7.92x33.Might need to replace the recoil spring and buffer too.

The East German Volksomething-or-other used this weapon for years after the war. I suppose they pawned them off on the Syrians at some point.

More like 40-50k if it was a registered weapon.I’ve seen MP5’s go for just shy of 30k,same for M-16”s.Class 3 prices have gone nuts.

Nice find.I think it might make a better sub-sonic round than the .300 Whisper.

I’ll never believe Kalashnikov designed the AK. Prior to that, his most complex construction was a device that counted the number of rounds a tank had fired.

This is what an assault rifle looks like.

Stakhanovite worker propaganda. Pick a face out of the crowd and make him a “people’s hero”. Not some old kraut in the Gulag.

The Syrians also used some modified Pz IVs as late as the 1967 Six Day War.
