Crews from KNTV-Channel 11 and KTVU-Channel 2 were reporting live at 6:03 a.m. on the shooting death of a woman at Pier 14 when someone stole camera equipment, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

Part of the robbery was captured on air, showing a man hitting KNTV-TV camera operator Alan Waples with a gun.

Video shows the gunman approach Waples and put a gun to his head while reporter Kris Sanchez pleads for him not to shoot, the Chronicle reported.

I must admit a tinge of schadenfreude. Sorry.

What is the problem? This is redistribution. Obviously, the poor fellow had greater need than the TV employees.

Has the begging ever worked? Either they were going to shoot or they weren’t.

The enemedia protects the vermin who do these kind of things and I’m sure these media jerks have already blamed white people for what happened to them.

Well, maybe a shame it did not happen to somebody like Matt Lauer or Cokie Roberts or Piers Morgan or any of those other anti-gun hypocrites that make more in a week than most of us in six months.

I don’t. Good. About time they get what they brought on us all.

Local news described the event thusly:

Police say they’ve detained a person of interest Wednesday evening in connection with a fatal shooting that took the life of a 31-year-old woman on Pier 14 in San Francisco’s South Beach neighborhood.

Around 6:30 p.m. officers responded to the vicinity of Embarcadero and Mission Street and found a woman suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the upper torso.

The victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital where she was later pronounced dead, according to police.
Police said she was walking with her family at the time when she was shot.

Officers flooded the area and detained a subject matching the description of a “possible person of interest” on the corner of Embarcadero and Townsend.

If officers ‘flooded the area’ how did the camera crew get stuck up and pistol whipped?

This happened in tourist territory.

Were these acts of ‘Trayvon Martin Avengers’?

I would suggest that it’s predictable but that would be too obvious.

I noticed that there was NO description of the robbers.

Was he/they just a generic male?:
Between 5 ft and 6 ft tall.
Maybe had hair
Two eyes
One nose and mouth
Wearing clothes

Captured on the air? Was there more than one camera?

But...they only robbed a TV crew...

Wasn’t last week or so that some banger was quoted as explaining that a perp “only shot a cop”?

Was he/they just a generic male?:

it's not that simple in SF these days. the 911 operator must first ascertain if the perp was 1) a cisgendered male, 2) biologically male but identifying as female, 3) biologically female but identifying as male, or 4) genderfluid and identifying as a male at the time of the crime.

failing to sort this out before sending out the APB could easily be construed as an act of microaggression, leading to the filing of infringement of civil rights charges against the 911 operator. :p

we certainly do live in "interesting" times, huh?

/facepalm

Pier 14 -- isn't that the repurposed waterfront building that got turned into a sort of covered mall, by the marina?
