Moving to Austin, TX | Any Good Employment Agencies? {VANITY}

Posted on 06/30/2015 8:15:08 AM PDT by erod

Hi FRiends,

I am seriously considering a move to Austin, Texas this summer and I could use your help. In a nutshell, I am tired of the bleak and stagnant Chicago economic climate, the harsh Illinois winters and the Chicago machine. It’s time for a change in my life to find a new opportunity.

I am a young marketing professional (30 years old) and have no wife or kids to provide for. Does anyone know of any good employment agencies in the Austin area to find some temporary or permanent work, so I can start my move down south? Any help is appreciated and I have taken the steps to start planning for relocation. There’s a buddy who’s opening up his apartment to me so I will have a place to stay in Austin, but I need temporary work so I can provide for myself while I look for permanent work in Texas.

Thanks for all your help,
erod

It seems to me that you are moving from one Liberal stink hole to another. Why Austin?

Texas is a great state! Why not move to a non-communist part?

Austin is a pretty college town but it is sooooo liberal. There are smaller towns in central Texas if you are interested in that part of the state. You might want to check out Houston or Dallas. Lots going on in both.

I’ve lived in Austin for 26 years. As others have said, you’ll not find much different between Chicago and Austin, both are liberal cesspools. Yes, Austin has a strong job market but that’s due in large part to the high-tech industry around Austin and because the state government makes the state very business friendly. In the last 5 years, the city has been overrun by liberals from the west and east coasts which has made the city an even more concentrated little island of liberal decadence. The cost of living has also shot through the roof as well, and taxes are insane. I’m not telling you not to come, but I’m just warning you what you’ll find if you do.

I am sure you have your reasons for picking Austin. For those who think he should move to another area, keep in mind that ANY Freeper moving to Texas helps keep Texas as Texas.

That’s my question, too. Why a liberal bastion?

Sounds like fertile grounds for you. As many have said, it is a phenomenally liberal locale. Real estate is very expensive, reflecting Austin’s Silicon Valley II status. There is massive software development going on down there.

For your purposes, maybe you want to get signed up with LinkedIn to pre-network.

I’m sitting in my temp office in Austin looking north at the skyline right now. Move towards Round Rock (north) ... more stuff to do and more conservative than liberal downtown. All ... well most ... the liberals conjugate around south Austin and downtown. This is a fun town if you can get past the traffic and liberalism. BTW Mopac SUCKS. I go home to 110 degree Arizona Thursday ... its 90+ and muggy here in Austin. been raining drizzling all week

Austin!? Stay out of Travis County if you value your sanity (and money). Look to the surrounding counties if you must have access to Austin.

I have never lived in Austin but have spent time there. From reading the local newspaper, watching local TV and talking with folks, Austin appears to be a liberal rat hole.

There are lots of other places in Texas to live other than Austin.

However, to get you started,
