That infamy won’t be “forgotten on the internet” any time soon.

As others have said, the “goals” certainly seem quite prophetic.

I’ve also seen and heard lists of those publicly espousing Communism in the 1960s. And while I haven’t hunted down the quotes for each of those names, I do mentally check them off when I find supportive statements here and there.

John Lennon hemmed and hawed both sides of the coin.
I seem to recall Mick Jagger talking about heading out to some riot/protest in 1968 (and I’m not referring to the lyrics of some song).

Scratch the surface of the so-called anti-war movement and you’ll find proud Communists who embraced Soviet, Cuban, and North Vietnamese Communism. They weren’t anti-war. They never demanded the North Vietnamese end their aggression nor did they criticize their genocide of the opposition “after the war”.

Yes, leftist “anti-war” movements are always one-sided; the non-leftist entity has to stop the war and surrender, but not the leftist “freedom fighters”.

FWIW, if you want to look into other published works of Skousen, you’ll find some remarkably nutty stuff.

For instance, the 10 Tribes of Israel are still a discrete group and live under the ice in Antarctica. And the Saxons of England were really “Isaac’s sons” and therefore Jews. Which of course ties in with his Mormon beliefs. They find Jews in the oddest places.

He also believed Eisenhower was a concious agent of Communism.

IOW, the guy was a nut. Doesn’t mean he was wrong about Communism, of course, but I would certainly not consider anything he says enhanced in credibility by his saying it.

Figured you’d attack the man based on his religious beliefs and/or what liberals said about him.

I haven’t done much digging (and his mormon beliefs don’t hold credibility with me) but he was a witness within FDR’s government. And some on the left still want to deny any Soviet espionage within the State Department, Executive Branch, etc. even with KGB files opened to review.

I’ve seen a lot of socialist justice warrior attacks on the writings of dead white (American) males. Some of the observations still hold water.

My mom brought home a Thermofax copy of the "Communist Rules for Revolution" that was going around her office at work. I was about 9 or 10. I googled it & this looks like what was on it, the best I can remember, although I thought there was more to it. (This is from 1972) http://www.truthmagazine.com/searching-the-scriptures-archives/1972/STS_1972.pdf COMMUNIST RULES FOR REVOLUTION A. Corrupt the young, get them away from religion. Get them interested in sex. Make them superficial, destroy their ruggedness. B. Get control of all means of publicity and thereby: 1. Get people's minds off their government by focusing attention on athletics, sexy books and plays and other trivialities. 2. Divide the people into hostile groups by constantly harping on controversial matters of no importance. 3. Destroy the people's faith in their natural leaders by THE DUSSELDORF PAPERS Jere E. Frost holding the latter up to contempt, ridicule and obloquy. 4. Always preach true democracy, but seize power as fast and as ruthlessly as possible. 5. By encouraging government extravagance, destroy its credit, produce fear of inflation with rising prices and general discontent. 6. Foment unnecessary strikes in vital industries, encour- age civil disorders and foster a lenient and soft atti- tude on the part of government toward such disorders. 7. By specious argument cause the breakdown of the old moral virtues, honesty, sobriety, continence, faith in the pledged word, ruggedness. C. Cause the registration of all firearms on some pretext, with a view to confiscating them and leaving the popula- tion helpless.

Skousen’s religious beliefs were considered bizarre and extreme by the Mormon Church itself, which prohibited official church meetings or publications from promoting them.

All I’ve ever said here is that the list is intentionally misleading as to provenance, which is indisputably true. I don’t believe in fake but accurate, even when it is by chance actually accurate.

Skousen’s personal beliefs are irrelevant. Trying to imply that they influenced his work while at the FBI or when he was writing his book is specious.

Do you apply the same standard to books written by liberals? Or are the author’s personal beliefs only irrelevant if you agree with him?

Since when do liberals have religious beliefs? Nice try.

You did not say religious. You said personal.

As far as liberals having religious beliefs, perhaps you might want to take a look at the current pope.

Parsing language now. Significant difference between the personal beliefs of Skousen and those of liberals—the latter of whom bring such into every aspect of their lives the whole time and have no religious aspect besides.

As for “the current pope”, I would not call his liberal dogma “religious”.

It’s really in the Record, but there’s no evidence that it actually came from communists. As far as anyone can find, it was made up by Cleon Skousen in his 1958 book The Naked Communist.

You’re welcome.

The thing that makes me bang my head against the wall is that the “termites” (known communists, subversives, & “activists”) were able to entrench themselves in academia & government/ quasi-government organizations (Pah. I know of no “NGO” that doesn’t have a political agenda attached to it. The credits after almost every PBS program are a laundry list of anti American foundations & individuals.).
There were FBI records.

The president is up to his neck in communists & anti American terrorists- people who actually blew stuff up, multiple times, who have called & are publicly calling for mass murder. WTH?

They took over MSM (TV) at it’s inception and influenced people. Combine that with, as you said, academia and we didn’t stand a chance to fight them.

Yes, they did this via a culture war. Looking back, you can see where it happened with tv (mid to late 70s, imo)

I’ll never accept that. Making a grave mistake is not the same as losing a battle. Right now (& for too long), we are handing it over to them nearly by default. You (general “you”, not you, personally, DJ) cannot deal with dishonorable people in good faith. They’ll use it to destroy you. Which they’ve almost accomplished.
