Sarah Palin's 24-year-old daughter revealed on Thursday that she is pregnant with her second child, and it sounds like it wasn't planned. Interestingly, Bristol does not reveal who the father of her unborn child is.

Well.......

1) I copied the title of the article into the search box and nothing came up. Admittedly, I didn’t scroll down the page.

2) 120 responses and counting, so I’d say people are interested.

Have a nice day.

The conservative position has always been against promiscuity but not against unwed mothers. It is not a sin to have a baby and mommy did not do it by herself.

I don’t know where you get your conservative position material, but it is foreign to me.

What Bristol did to get pregnant is probably something most critics on this thread have done. That makes them hypocrites. How is that conservative?

I am not saying promiscuity should be embraced as moral. But Bristol is not asking for that either. It is done. Over. Now there is a baby to consider. Take a break. If scorn is what you must give, give it to the dad for a change.

Abusive? What I said is nothing compared to some of the responses here. She’s dumb as a post. And she’s good looking. That’s typically a dangerous combination.

Yes. She should have waited because nothing in life is a sure bet. She is learning some life lessons the hard way - first hand experience.

I knew we could agree....

Yes, but that’s after the fact. Easier to be on the pill or make whatever guys she’s boinking these days wear a condom.

It’s not a shame that she’s pregnant, it’s a shame that she’s an unrepentant fornicator.

Not all of them? And they call themselves pro-life?

No one encouraged an abortion but they focused only on humiliating the Mom and not blessing her for being pro-life despite what she knew would be thrown at her. And, boy!, have some tossed verbal fire bombs! It's distressing to see conservatives mimic liberals.

Did she do the wrong thing? Oh yeah. Big time. But she's not making it worse by killing an innocent.

It is EXACTLY the same thing. He said it when a group of men were about to stone a woman to death for adultery, yet they were guilty of the same thing themselves.

I have no problem with criticizing promiscuity. It is wrong. it is harmful. it is sinful. It leads to many other problems. What i do have a problem with is bashing and bashing a pregnant woman who has already admitted she made a mistake. SHE DID NOT DO IT BY HERSELF. But I see little or no criticism of the father. He deserves MORE criticism since she is the one paying the price and he is the loser not standing there supporting her.

You came pretty darned close to saying that:

“Congratulations Bristol. I hope you and baby are healthy and happy. May those you love be a support to you. Ignore the criticism. It is irrelevant now.”

I re-read the article and it sounds like she knows she messed up and she’s taking responsibility for her actions. I do think there needs to be some criticism because if there isn’t, everyone will assume it’s OK or no big deal.

Should there be some criticism for the father? Sure, but the fact is we don’t know for sure who the father is. She said, he didn’t deny, so we assume, but we don’t know. We know who the mother is. The stigma is always going to fall on the woman because we will always know who the mother is. Is it fair? Probably not, but life isn’t fair, the world isn’t fair, biology isn’t fair.

My experience has been that a single word works best for searching.

Example:

Bristol

It is EXACTLY the same thing. He said it when a group of men were about to stone a woman to death for adultery, yet they were guilty of the same thing themselves.

Learn yer damned Bible. He did NOT mean this to mean one cannot observe sin in another and comment on it.

"From this passage we learn that we do not accuse others unless we first thoroughly search our own hearts and minds to make certain that we are pure in every possible aspect (Matthew 7:3). Also, if we must admonish someone, we should do so as instructed in Scripture; we always look to God’s glory and never cause unnecessary division or harm (Matthew 18:15), but we do work to keep the church pure."

If we could not criticize someone because we are sinners, there would be NO criticism or moral direction.

I have no problem with criticizing promiscuity. It is wrong. it is harmful. it is sinful. It leads to many other problems. I say we stone him, as the Law of Moses demands.

It is EXACTLY the same thing. He said it when a group of men were about to stone a woman to death for adultery, yet they were guilty of the same thing themselves.

Actually that passage isn't about the adulteress. It's about all the laws the Pharisees broke.

The law states there needs to be 2 eyewitnesses. There were not.
The law states that both the man and the woman be brought before a judge. The man was not.
The law states that both parties had to be brought before an appointed judge. Jesus was not an appointed judge.

Therefore they broke the law with a false accusation that would result with the Pharisees receiving the punishment meant for her. The passage says that the oldest among them dropped their stones first. That's because they knew what laws they broke trying to trap Jesus in a "Gotcha!".

Well I will leave you to His judgment. As long as you feel good about yourself keep on bashing Bristol. I mean, maybe if you criticize her long enough you can un-ring her bell, so to speak.

The POINT of righteous criticism is to help someone change. It is not to punish them. That is not our job. She already admits her wrong. Continuing to criticize is just cruel and probably also hypocritical.

But by all means, go ahead and bash her. And I will in turn bash you and you will in turn bash me. Ask yourself, which of these three (Bristol, you, me) have redemption in mind? Isn’t that what God’s ultimate goal in all things He does?
