My 57 has a chain not a belt and my 67 Camaro I installed gears in my souped up engine.

The reason I bring this up is not to rag on Aveos but because I think the new cars are unfixable. The tradeoff is gas mileage, but I’m working on that.

I drive an astonishingly reliable car - an old Jaguar. My friends owe big bucks on and spend big money fixing their computer-controlled oh so averaga-looking high dollar disposables, waiting and wishing my jaw-droppingly gorgeous old machine would find itself in the shop...

“The tradeoff is gas mileage, but I’m working on that.”

I would just grab a JC Whitney (are they still around?) catalog and start ordering parts. Every part says it will increase mileage 10 or 20%. If you order 10 of these, theoretically you will have to pump gas out of it periodically!

I still laugh at all of those descriptions and hype.
