MILWAUKEE COUNTY, Wis. —Federal investigators have charged the owners of several popular Milwaukee-area restaurants.

The owners of El Beso, El Fuego and Omega Burger are accused of cheating the IRS and face millions in fines.

Investigators said the owners are accused of under reporting sales and building up a huge hidden reserve of cash and silver.

According to the indictment, Paul Bouraxis and his wife, Freida Bouraxis, their son, Andreas Bouraxis, and son-in-law, Reiad Awadalla, skimmed cash from restaurant receipts and hid it from the IRS by not depositing it in bank accounts and paying employees in cash.

Us too. Get the bid first, then ask for the cash price. It’s usually 10-15% lower.

Hint to Fedzilla: Most foreign owned Convienance stores have refined this process.

“...and building up a huge hidden reserve of cash and silver.”

Not that there’s anything WRONG with that! ;)

If I’m on that jury... NOT GUILTY!

The government isn’t going to get to railroad and jail serfs while at the same time letting the scions of the banking world repeatedly go scot free, for crime orders of magnitude worse...

Might be foreigners so are flight risks. No bail if I am the judge. Guy was prolly ratted out by a pissed off girlfriend or ex-wife or pissed off business associate.

Immigrants love cash businesses for obvious reason.

Greece, right now, is the wrong country to hide your money.

It's The King's Money, peasant.

If the King and the King's Men want to do illegal off-the-books stuff with cash money, then that's OK.

For you peasants, anything having to do with cash that they say is a crime, is a crime. And they'll just take The King's Money back...

Well, if someone is under-reporting sales and income to the IRS, they shouldn’t whine too much when they get caught. Want to cheat on taxes? They should move to Greece.

Right. Because the only liar and felon at the IRS left when Lois Lerner retired.

It took them eight months to figure out that their junk tax software was wrong, after I explained it to them with their own form 1040 instructional documentation a week and a half after they sent me an underpayment notice.

They continued to send me threatening letters up until the time I made the final call and ascertained that they were admitting I was correct.

"Oh, yeah - disregard that last threat letter we sent you two weeks after we ruled in your favor."

Owners of 3 Milwaukee restaurants accused by IR of under-reporting proceeds and taxes due.

Good thing the IRS wasn't emailing the information on this internally, because their computers would likely have crashed, and they would have lost all the investigative information...

I’m sure the large silver purchases are what precipitated this investigation.

The IRS uses pims ratios and social media monitoring to identify cash based business fraud.

Then they run an investigation and count heads for a month and compare it to receipts.
