Lakota Warriors Vow to Crush Dirty Rainbow Hippies
Daily Beast ^ | 6-20-2015 | KATE BRIQUELET

Posted on 06/22/2015 8:33:12 AM PDT by Citizen Zed

James Swan parked his old Dodge alongside the South Dakota visitor center, where grungy hippies were sprawled on a lawn and passing around a feather. The two-dozen vagabonds are planning to unleash thousands of their brethren into the Black Hills for prayer and free thinking. But Swan wasn’t feeling the peace and love.

“We don’t want you here. You have no f—king respect for Lakota people!” the 54-year-old Native American yelled into a mic attached to his truck. His T-shirt bore another message: portraits of warriors who had shellacked the U.S. Army in the Battle of Little Bighorn, alongside the words “Original Homeland Security.”

“They aren’t listening to anybody,” Swan told The Daily Beast of the phalanx of graying flower children and their next-generation recruits. “This might work for them everywhere in other states, but they’re dealing with Lakotas now.”

“We’re a warrior society,” he added. “We don’t want violence, but this is our culture, our sacredness and we will protect it.”

Swan is not a tribal council representative and does not speak for the Sioux. That isn’t stopping him from fighting the Rainbow Family of Living Light, a counterculture group that’s held annual gatherings in national forests every July since 1972 to pray for world peace—and deliver drugs, nudity and sometimes murder and other crimes in their wake.

To some Lakota, the love fest threatens to desecrate the sacred Black Hills National Forest, where 5,000 to 20,000 hippies are expected to dig trench latrines, fire pits and kitchens. Swan and his band of activists with the United Urban Warrior Society say they’re planning a blockade and will remove the bums.

“You’re not a tribe,” Swan added. “You’re fricking fruitcake people.”

Perhaps he needs to look to history for his answers.

Like maybe handing out blankets to the squatters. :)

There was a mountain dew commercial about 10 years ago where a guy invented a hippie-killing robot

I still miss it today.

Looks like I'll be rooting for the hippies this time around...

When I was spending time with the Nisqually tribe in their fight with the feds, in the early 1970s, I moved from first dealing with the young punks, to almost instantly associating with the tribal elders and permanent residents.

I asked what was wrong with the young punks with all the guns, and the elders mocked them as their city Indians, all hot head and self absorbed pretenders, with no real tribal depth, and that most of the reservation members had no respect for them.

Tempting to side with the Indians here. Culturally they are more conservative than the hippies (need that be said).

But the truth is, they’re both lost. They both need God.

An evangelist showing up here would need some nerve. But it would be the right thing.

Lol. When I stop laughing, perhaps I'll be able to form a coherent response. LMAO!!!

We need to look to something larger than ourselves or else we will be forever caught in “tribal” (in a large sense) wars.

History has been a mixed bag for American Indians. They were living in a land ripe for conquest, with little or no concept of country, and it was merely a question of whom and when. A Christianized society, even falling well below gospel standards, was superior to what would have happened had it been Vikings (who did try, prior to Columbus) or Islamists.

I am ashamed to say that I attended Rainbow Family of Living Light “reunions” in my college years. Filth, garbage, trash everywhere, and that’s just the people. The damage they did wherever they descended like a plague of locusts was incredible and would take years to disappear, not even counting the physical garbage they left behind.

Good for this guy to tell them what they are. Truth to slovenliness.

These clowns had their annual rainbow fest in Washington State several years ago near where we lived at the time. They would go into the local WalMart and urinate on the produce. When the store gathered up all of the contaminated produce and threw it out, the hippies would wait near the dumpster and collect it for their festivities. True story...

There’s something to be said for real American Indians telling off fakes.

Back in 1973, with the Wounded Knee Insurrection inspired by the American Indian Movement, the Indians took over the Pine Ridge Reservation area, set up trenches, and prepared to fight the US government-again.

Then came a huge influx of anti-American Hippies to help them. they fouled up the area for a while till they left.

They were welcomed back then, now they are told to “Hit the road!”

Wonder if these are the kids of those hippies!

Hippies...nothing’s changed since around 1969. Just fewer of them, thank goodness.

Little Big Horn happened in another time. I’m with the Lakotas on this one.

Besides, Custer dropped sabers, split his forces & left the Gatling guns behind. Recipe for disaster.

In an older age, people would have looked for divine blessing or lack thereof as reason for the problems, and they usually would have been right.

Custer responded to what was a huge invasion of CROW territory by the hostile Sioux and Cheyennes. The Crow were pro American and many fought and died with Custer that day.
