I want a small truck with a turbo-diesel. This will never compare to a duramax in a one ton.
What’s our chance of buying a Hilux in the USA?
So do you expect Toyota passenger cars, SUVs, or small trucks with diesels anytime soon in the US?
I am in the market for small to medium sized passenger vehicle, diesel.
So far it looks like VW/Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Chevy are the choices.
The 2.0 liter engines from VW/Audi, BMW and Chevy seem like the choice for EPA fuel mileage, which is about 30 city and 40 hwy.
Any suggestions?
OK, I’m going to postpone my purchase of the new truck until I see how this motor stacks up against the Eco Boost gas engine.
Maybe Toyota will start selling small pickups again in the US................
That's what I'm pining for.
Yeah, buy my 1984 300D and revamp it. LOL
Why would you buy from a government owned enterprise?
Looks like a nice engine. Now, if Toyota could make a car or truck that didn’t look like a piece of crap styled by some over-reaching anime influenced kid, I’d be interested. I want to drive an anonymous car, not some spaceship bling thing.
Gas or diesel, TURBO is the ONLY way to go! Don’t buy a new car unless it’s a TURBO!!!! If you want better gas mileage, go easy on the gas pedal.. If you want to go zoooooom, pedal to the floor and VAVOOOOOM, WARP SPEEEED!!!!
Even Buicks and Caddies look like they came from a sci-fi prop set nowadays.................

I had a ‘79 300SD but I couldn’t afford the parts to keep it going.
Huh, I have no problem getting parts. Even O’Reilly’s sells them.
