Starting right tackle Anthony Davis of the 49ers, the No. 11 overall pick in the 2010 draft, announced Friday that he is leaving the NFL after just five seasons.
Davis, 25, said in a statement that he plans to take a year or so away from the NFL to allow his body to recover from the physical rigors of his career.
This will be a time for me to allow my brain and body a chance to heal, Davis said. I know many wont understand my decision. Thats OK.

Agreed. And make it Rugby Union, not that tamed down Rugby League stuff. I can’t wait to get back to Tokyo and see some games.
