I’d like to amend that title to 19 Disgusting Things About The Duggars….and Counting.

Here’s why:

1) Their son Josh was a serial child abuser, yet they don’t seem to even realise this salient fact. ‘He was so young,’ they wailed, ‘he’d just turned 14’…. ‘he was so young’…etc, vomit-makingly etc. Here’s the only fact that matters: Josh Duggar sexually molested FOUR of his own young sisters, one as young as 5, and a baby-sitter.

2) They didn’t report him to anyone for 16 months after he first confessed. That’s not them being ‘failed parents’ as they would have us believe. That’s being an accessory to covering up a crime. When they finally did tell someone in authority, it was to this man. A state trooper who did nothing about it and is now languishing in prison on child pornography charges

4) The Duggars seem more upset that we now all know about Josh’s disgraceful activities than about the activities themselves. Their doe-eyed exclamations of self-pity were utterly disingenuous.

5) They claim none of the victims knew they were being abused, which is obviously palpable nonsense given that some were awake when it happened. The reality is their parents conned them into thinking the abuse wasn’t as bad as it was. Just as they have, for years, conned them into thinking their weird, twisted, religiously zealous, goody-two-shoes lifestyle is ‘normal’ too.

I'm going to get my head chopped off (figuratively) for asserting this, but here goes...I think a version of what happened in the Duggar family probably happens in many “normal”, meaning intact, middle class families because teenage boys are cauldrons of hormones. That doesn't make what went on anything close to “alright”, but it does make some of the Josh-Duggar-belongs-in-prison rhetoric ludicrous. I believe also that the release to the media of these sealed juvenile records was a frightening abuse of government power. I am bemused by how the topic of sexual abuse of children inspires many people to engage in a nuclear arms race of verbal condemnation of the accused, as if to say. “NOBODY hates pedophiles more than I do!” Well, we all hate pedophiles; does it really takes guts to condemn pedophilia? And does lumping the then-teenage Josh Duggar with adults who spend decades stalking and abusing children, and are unremorseful, really make sense?

When, precisely, do you think the adult stalkers begin their behavior?

What’s disturbing is that even AFTER he was confronted (he only confessed when confronted, never on his own), he continued and even escalated the behavior from sleeping siblings near his own age to fingering the FIVE year old in front of other children while she was awake.

And, reading the only statement by Josh thus far, I see little remorse for any impact on his victims, merely thankfulness he didn’t continue the behavior and ruin his OWN life.

How do you know Josh Duggar hasn't abused more children as an adult? Even after he told his parents the first time that he had touched his little sisters, he then did it again. Only then did the parents do something (as pitiful as that was) about it. If someone is touching 5-year-old girls when he is 14 and 15 years old, the odds of him continuing to have the desire to touch 5-year-old girls when he is in his 20s is pretty great.

I think before we judge we should ask:

1. What we would do if our 14 YO son behaved this way? Would we go as far as taking him to the police?

2. What we would expect to happen to ourselves if we behaved this way? Expulsion from house? Punishment? Ridicule? Detention center?

I don’t think the Duggar reaction was out of line. And I think the female victims suffer worse harm from the disclosure than from the secret.

I agree. And the story needs to be reported. But CNN has become obsessed with it. Maybe partially a coincidence, but for days on end almost every time I switched to CNN and on every news or talk show and also Nancy Grace yesterday, they were discussing and agonizing over the Duggars. Not once did I happen on a story about other contemporary pedophiles such as Epstein and the many illegal aliens committing worse crimes.

Well, tune in to FoxNews Channel’s Megyn Kelly’s show tonight and listen to the Duggar daughters. I bet 100% of them have “grown out of it” and are well-adjusted, admirable, forgiving young ladies. What they likely have NOT “outgrown” is the current jihad against their family. But you don’t want to hear that, do you?

I believe these offenses were done surreptitiously and most of the molestation is being done by the antichristian media. I used to be a teacher and when the “good touch, bad touch” people came in, the whole school turned their parents in. ala Wahatchie WA and the older day care couple from California.
