Florida has a big lizard problem. Between lion fish and Burmese pythons, Florida has a lot of invasive species problems -- and the newest is massive Nile Monitor Lizards.

Nile Monitor Lizards can grow to be almost 6 feet in length and weigh 33 pounds. They're mostly found in Northern Africa, but some households take them in as pets.

The "pets" are often let loose after getting too big, so they wind up on the streets. But that's not the only problem -- they start eating things, like neighbors' cats.

It's not an invasion.

It's a solution!

There are reports of Chimpanzees wild in Florida. Anybody down there see a chimp in the wild?

Yep, many of those animals are Democrats.

If I may ask you and anyone else here - what state, town and lake did they find piranha in?
Nasty fish in quantity and when hungry..

Damn invasive species!
- said the native American Indians upon first seeing likes of us settling in.

Florida: bugs, monsters, hurricanes, heat, humidity, weird voodoo and santeria stuff....

Florida creeps me out.

And yet, I’m going there this summer to check out Florida State with my daughter. She thinks Florida is interesting.

Tallahassee has its own set of problems, but it’s nothing like the rest of the state further south.

Florida is odd.

North FL, including Jacksonville, is culturally pretty much part of the South.

Central FL, including Orlanda, is culturally more like southern CA than anywhere else I can think of. Most of Tampa Bay area is closer to a cross between the South and CA.

SE Florida, especially Dade County is like no place else.

SW Florida you’re back to a considerably more conservative vibe. Or possibly just older.

“What they should do is import some Komodo Dragons to go after these Nile Monitor Lizards.”
Yeah, that’s the ticket, then we’ll have to import saltwater crocs to get a handle of the Komodos.
