Walker Hints at Running Mate
Fox News | 5/28/2015 | conservativejoy

I just heard Walker on Neal Cavuto's program hint that he might consider a Walker/Rubio ticket.

What do Freepers think of this?

Time for the Koch brothers to ride Walker’s rescue!

Thanks again for all the hard work you do in this campaign. The results are looking very impressive indeed!

He had nearly an hour long interview on foreign policy a couple of weeks ago, and was on top of every issue. That has been his specialty in the Senate (not sure which committee). Really came across very well.

I like Fiorina. I could vote for her. It would be much like voting for Sarah and not so much the top of the ticket.

Oh please everyone is freaking out over this. If Cruz were the nominee he might end up picking someone like Rubio or Rand Paul. Are you 100 percent, purist Freepers gonna bail on Ted for that? Even if Cruz or Jindal, arguably the two most conservative candidates in the field, were to win the presidency they still have a Republican Party full of RINOS. Better to have a RINO as VP than heading state, defense or justice. The best way to deal with the establishment is minimize their influence and power by relagating them to less important departments. Folks, look at the bigger picture. Even a Cruz administration will have RINOS in it in some capacity, but their influence can be minimized.

Only thing is, he could possibly deliver Florida....as Kasich might bring Ohio. These are important considerations, IMO.

If Cruz picked Rand Paul for a running mate, that would demonstrate extraordinarily poor judgment.

If Walker doesn’t want Ted Cruz for a running mate ..??

Ever consider that Cruz would not accept, so why toss out an olive branch ?

“Is Walker trying to piss off Conservatives?’

Good question. I think Scott will do whatever advances Scott. He really isn’t as Conservative as he has been promoted to be.

I can’t imagine Cruz picking Rand Paul. Cruz is very gracious to all the candidates and doesn’t speak negatively of them, but I think he doesn’t really Stand with Rand.

Well that does it, I won’t be voting for Scott Walker!

Well my FRiend, I'm no fan of Rubio or his amnesty desires, but if (admittedly, an "if") Rubio's presence on the ticket helps secure Florida -- without which Republicans (GOPEs and conservatives together) will most assuredly lose the election -- I think this merits a serious political calculation rather than outright dismissal ... by any serious candidate.

Some of these comments on this thread are pretty amazing...

Just because Walker wants to pick Rubio as VP, it's an automatic he is doing it for amnesty reasons...

Seriously?

Are you people that myopic, so one issue focused, so locked into a purity test...?

Rubio brings lot of crossover votes from Florida and electoral votes...as well as pushed Bush out of the picture...

Besides, since when does a VP have any actual power unless the Senate is deadlocked...?

I don’t think he is doing it for amnesty reasons, but if a candidate running for President has firm convictions on a policy issue, he isn’t going to choose a running mate that has a completely opposite view. Illegal immigration is a Huge issue.

I think Walker is doing it for strategic reasons and to heck with principle.

Just 12 months ago Walker was espousing even more of an open borders, along with amnesty and citizenship, position than even Rubio and Bush ever have.

the fact that he would consider this alliance just enhances that distrust.

**************

The nominee has got win the general to even have a chance at making changes.
You have to broaden your reach when it comes to the general and try to win those
battleground states. There probably will be six or so that will decide the election.
