“The worst iceberg is the damage to the victims.
They will not even understand the losses they will have in their lives because of this for a long time.”

Some here and in society don’t see it that way. They think the girls with just “get over it”. Remember King David’s Daughter Tamar? She never got “over it”. She was damaged for life. Who raped Tamar? Oh wait, her half brother! How did they treat it back then? Same as today like it’s nothing. Finally Tamar’s brothers killed that pervert when King David could not bring down justice. Now the Duggars have 4 Tamars and one cousin Tamar because of “Precious Josh”. Think of that, for the rest of their lives they are damaged in the mind. Do you think Tamar’s brother, had he said he was “sorry” would have undone the damage to her? NO he would not, that only gets him right with God. The damage was done with Tamar. She was a mental case beyond repair. Something was shattered in her that could never be fixed. The brothers did right by finally doing him in. That way no other sister/woman was damaged like Tamar.

So, so many strawmen.

I expected better than lies out of you.

You are also speaking of a society that knew not the Cross and its power.

If you want to mire people in the Old Testament mindset then don’t blame that on anyone else but you.

“The brothers did right by finally doing him in. “

False. David’s failure to punish his son, Amnon, did lead to Absalom murdering him. But it was still murder. Further, Absalom ultimately led a rebellion against his father to steal the kingdom rightfully given to him by God. Both his murder and rebellion appear to stem from his bitterness over the rape of his sister. Ultimately, his bitterness made him the enemy of God and he died in his sins. David grieved more for the loss of Absalom than the innocent child that he lost due to his own moral failure. David said he would be reunited with his child. He said no such thing of Absalom and would not be comforted over his loss of this son.

Whatever someone has done to you or those you love, you must find forgiveness toward them or you will ultimately direct your bitterness and unforgiveness toward God and fail to receive the forgiveness you need from Him.
