There seems to be a great failure among FReepers in separating the slothful from the poor.

Jesus himself proclaimed:
"For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always."
Mark 14:7

But many are the scriptures that chastise the slothful.

"For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat."2 Thessalonians 3:10

Be careful when you judge as much about your own heart is reveled in your choice.

What the man needs is a social worker to follow up on his situation. My guess is that he’s eligible for about $200 a month in food stamp benefits - temporarily cut off during his hospital stay.
