Outspoken Pope Francis is taking on the arms industry, lashing out at the “industry of death”—and condemning those who “live off war.”

The remarks came Monday in response to a question from one of the 7,000 teachers, parents and children participating in an audience with the Pontiff, ANSA reports.

“This is serious,” Francis said. “Some powerful people make their living with the production of arms. It’s the industry of death.” […]

“When we see that everything revolves around money—the economic system revolves around money and not around the person, men and women, but money—so much is sacrificed and war is waged in order to defend the money.” …

Catholics, I don’t know if you have a process to remove a sitting Pope, but if you do, it might be the time to start it.

It says right here that Socialism is the ultimate industry of death. What does Fritz think about Socialism?

Pedophilia is the sexual attraction/abuse of pre-pubescent children. Very few priests have been charged with this crime. What you must be referring to is homosexuality, as 90% of the crimes in relation to the Catholic Church have been priests and post-pubescent boys.

Is that clear? Do we need to go over that again?

Satan has rejoiced over the incursion of homosexuality, and Liberal Progressivism, into the priesthood, via the seminaries, with the "blessing" of like-minded bishops.

I ask you: What institution has not seen Satan infiltrate it in the same way, to the same extent?

Regarding the arms industry, as is the subject of this post, Conservatives are not disinclined to acknowledge its amoral aspects. Surely a much more substantive conversation would be needed before leaping to conclusions about what the pope's point was.

And I say this as one who stands vehemently against this pope's acceptance of Cuba/Castro, liberation theology, illegal immigration, and perhaps many more secular issues to come.

It is convenient to forget the very same arms he bitches about, have saved countless innocents, have turned back hordes of godless enemies, have stopped dictators in their tracks, have liberated people from oppressive rule, and allowed common people to fight back against all form of criminal.

It would be wiser to focus on the INTENT of the weapon holders rather than those that make weapons.

“So is knife manufacturing in the muslim world.”

As is the abortion industry in the US.

And don’t let us get started on the death-oriented homo “culture”...

And without some sort of arms industry at some point in the past (Tours? Lepanto? Vienna?) there likely would not have been a Pope to blather about it.

“Pope Francis: Arms Manufacturing Is ‘Industry of Death’”

I think many misguided, “men of the cloth” have fostered Industries of death over history.

With all do respect, Pope Francis will be forgotten immediately upon his departure. History’s lessons escape him.

Just like zero’s. It’s like they both just popped in from
outer space. Never mind how humans actually operate: just impose anti-normal mandates on them and expect them to go with it in the spirit of hope and change.

There isn’t, unless somebody wants to denounce his election as invalid and that he is an antipope.

Considering the lack of controversy surrounding the conclave, that ain’t gonna happen.

The 1.2 billion Catholics, Latin and Eastern thrift the world are affected by social issues just like everyone else. He’s our leader, not just in terms of spiritual matters, but in how those matters affect us and vice-versa. The times, they are a’changin’.

To make a play on words, the arms that the Creator’s put on man has been used to murder their fellow men starting with Cain and Able. If it wasn’t their bare hands, it was a stick. If it wasn’t a stick, it was a rock. A nuke is just another rock. The Left wants to fix the impossible and Pope Francis is mired in the culture of the Left.

My very Catholic husband works for the defense industry. I was kind of worried about that when I first met him. His view was that better weapons allowed armies to target military targets and avoid things like orphanages and rest homes. I don’t think anybody thinks war profiteering is admirable, but the basic idea of having weapons so a country can defend its innocent civilians from foreign bad guys seems morally justifiable to me.
