Harper gave 10.5 million dollars and a personal apology to Maher Arar, in compensation for his troubles after the USA deported him to Syria. Arar is an al-qaeda operative who-- surprise!--turns out to be Khadr's buddy. I hope Harper is presently arranging away to get back the taxpayer's money he so generously gave this Syrian goathumper.
