Venezuelans are criticizing electricity rationing that government officials began carrying out this week after the country’s electrical system continued to overload because of an ongoing heat wave.

Ministries and other public institutions will now work until 1:00 p.m., reducing their workday from 8 to 6 hours. Private companies have also been required to cut their electricity intake by 10 percent.

The overall goal is to achieve a 20-percent reduction of country’s power consumption in order to prevent overloading the system.

"We are in the presence of a significant increase in the temperature," said Jesse Chacón, the country's Energy Minister, according to Reuters.

Didn’t Maduro just give everyone a raise so they could afford toilet paper that isn’t there.

Got to give Venezuela’s Supremo Jefe bus driver credit. Hugo Chavez talked a game but Maduro, he delivers the Cuba dream good and hard.

Yep, all those Venezuelans who dreamed of visiting the paradise called Cuba can now relax, stay home, and still visit. Cuba is coming to them.

“But Venezuelan government officials have blamed the blackouts on climate change. “This is, of course, linked to global warming and the excessive industrialization of capitalism”

You just KNEW capitalists were at fault! Curious though that only Venezuela is suffering like this from “global warming”. Perhaps their country sits under some kind of freak atmospheric sun-focusing “global warming” lens that is frying it like an anthill under attack from a toddler’s magnifying glass.

Venezuela, very near the equator, is not just boiling hot, places like Houston, Miami and Tampa, know humidity is what kills you, well, the humidity in Venezuela is even worse than those places.

Sean Penn needs to rush down and build a coal plant, or hand out some beans and water.

He loves Venezuela.
