Are art museums welcoming enough to minorities? While it’s probably a question that never occurred to you since, if you are so inclined, you simply pay the admission and enter, it it apparently a pressing issue to some people.
One of those people to whom this though has occurred is first lady Michelle Obama.
At the opening of the new $420 million Whitney Museum in New York City, the first lady spoke of a “feeling of not belonging” in museums when she was a growing up on the south side of Chicago.

The urban thugs in my city complained that the zoo was a whites only venue because they charged admission. As a result, Tuesdays became free admission days. It took three months before the shootings, assaults, and robberies inside the zoo put an end to that “inclusive feeling”.
Moosechelle should get one of those African lip plates to better express her culture.
They run around topless in much of Africa but I wouldn’t encourage Moosechelle to do that.
I know the social justice crowd thinks it is horrific that an older white man would cross the street to avoid passing by a gathering of young black men, but in my mind, it's not racist, but self-preservation.
Of course, I also cross the street to avoid gatherings of imitator young white men with their ballcaps on sideways and britches hanging half-way to their knees.

Of course museums are free all over the USA, but they are too stupid to know that.

Going someplace where it’s expected that you behave yourself and demonstrate some kind of deference for the protocols and regulations of THAT place puts the burden on YOU, to be responsible for yourself. I guess you may feel unwelcome if you DON’T want to act like an adult and observe THEIR code of conduct.
OR ... if you don’t know how to act, or are unwilling to show any respect AT ALL, you could just STEY THE F%$# OUT of those places!

I used to fill out forms when I opened cases that asked for race or ethnicity. I told people that they could answer: blah blah or unknown. A lot, even dark skinned people, opted for unknown.
