Attorneys for a transgender prison inmate said Wednesday that she could have sex reassignment surgery as early as next month if California correctional officials quickly approve the procedure.
Corrections officials said they are working to schedule the surgery but need more time.
U.S. District Judge Jon Tigar last month ordered the state to pay for the surgery. Michelle-Lael Norsworthy’s lawyers said in a court filing that a qualified surgeon is available as early as June 5. Surgeons also are available in July and August to operate on the 51-year-old, whose birth name is Jeffrey Bryan Norsworthy. …

It could have been up for parole several times but, didn’t ‘go there’? So taxpayers would be on the hook for its surgery?
If one were to get that kind of surgery, I suppose one would prefer “swiftly” to agonizingly slowly!

When the sentencing paperwork description of the prisoner suddenly differs from the name and sex of the imprisoned person, will that new shemale be able to petition for release?

You have the answer. For each sex surgery there must be an execution. This way even though the tax payer gets ripped off for the sex surgery he has one less jackass to pay for his prison room and board. So it balances out.

Y’know, it occurs to me that if I was sentenced to life in prison (with no possibility of parole), I might want to change my gender too. I’d much rather do time surrounded by women than men.
