NEW YORK McDonald's CEO Steve Easterbrook says he's stripping away layers of bureaucracy so the company can move faster to keep up with changing tastes.
During a 23-minute video message posted online Monday, Easterbrook said the company's structure is too "cumbersome" and that it can no longer afford its "legacy structure."

Suggestion: Fry your taters in tallow, the way God intended.
And bring back fried apple pies.
Does this mean the food will actually be edible again?
At least they brought back hot mustard sauce for the McNuggets.
I don’t care what they do to “reorganize,” I got food poisoning from their Quarter Pounders last year and will NEVER eat their crappy food again.
Maybe make a milkshake from ice cream and whole milk?
Tip # 3: Your company made Ray Kroc and many franchisees rich with a menu whose items could be listed on the fingers of two hands.
LOL. Dead on. They should hire you as VP of Marketing.
>> Fry your taters in tallow, the way God intended.
Preach it, brother! AMEN!!
“Customer visits at established locations declined for two straight years.”
Well, duh. People are afraid they’ll get there a** handed to them by a group of thugs (instead of a Big Mac with fries).
No thanks...I’ll go someplace else to buy a spit-burger.
And hire people who can get an order right.
Or invest in automation.
Maybe they can also slim down their menu and get rid of the extras that most don’t care about. A simple menu helps reduce costs.
Also I agree with what another said, if they have dropped their fried pies, those needs to come back.
In the past 5 years, I’ve been there 3 times.
They got my order wrong all three times. :)
If they could sell double cheeseburgers for a dollar... when they go to $2, they ought to be twice as good.
They should probably do exactly what they are saying. Simplify the menu. In-n-Out can be their model if nobody remembers what McDonald's used to be.
“In its flagship U.S. market, executives said the menu got too complicated and gummed up operations.”
“Easterbrook, who previously headed up the U.K. business, has described himself as an “internal activist” and says he wants to turn McDonald’s into a “modern, progressive burger company.”
AND THE SOLUTION: “...simplifying restaurant operations and improving perceptions about the quality of its food with items like a new Artisan Grilled Chicken sandwich.”
Lol, some marketing guy obviously said “Adjectives! We need more adjectives on this menu!”
Ah yes, the old days when the coffee was steaming and the beef was pure. Now the coffee is pure and the beef is steaming.
McD’s has fallen so far, forget the food quality, tell me why it takes 5-10 minutes just to get my order taken when I am the first or second person in line? That alone makes no sense to me.
Yes, food quality can be improved, but I know I’m not going to McD’s for the greatest quality food, but I am tired of feeling like I just stepped into the middle of an inner city high school cafeteria staffed by the students whenever I go into one of their stores.
