We haven’t had a hot stretch of weather in Chicago for 3 years now. I miss warm nights.

Me too. I read somewhere that the mild summers might be caused by the near-total freezing over of the Great Lakes I the winters, which keeps them colder in the summers. Last summer there was still some ice on Lake Superior until June or July.

Lake Erie has the most valuable and abundant commercial fishing industry of all the Great Lakes. Yes, it was at Earth Day that the lake was pronounced dead, with "only mutated carp who survived on toxic waste," according to the Environmental Handbook issued at the time. Liberal weenies been lyin' for many decades now.

“Not any more.”

I use that as an example to my kids. Moderation. It's not good to crap in your kitchen. (Or have no regulations and dumb all sorts of stuff where ever you want.) And of how amazing nature is - that given a chance it will cleanse itself. (Lake Michigan iirc was considered “dead”. Now it is a huge fishing destination.)

Years ago the EPA was a necessary thing, and it did a lot of good. Of course now the pendulum has swung way too far to the left - with even CO2 (necessary to life on Earth) being called a pollutant.

All things in moderation.

The way the null game was bastardized by the oligarchical fascists is known as data tampering. Thus the hottest winter on record.

You may be a hairy ape but you also have a good brain. That was an excellent summation. True and easy to understand, thanks for posting.

I think the Republican Party is shooting itself in the foot by trying to make major cuts in the earth sciences part of the NASA budget. Are they afraid somebody will prove they are wrong? If they want to prove the science is wrong, then they should want more data points, not fewer. If they are supporting their big contributors who don’t want more science, then where does that leave us little guys? Breathing worsening air?

I agree. Cut the budget and fund non-compromised scientists. NASA was falsifying data. I don't know about the air you breath, mine is not clouded by the fog of animism.

I don't see any shooting of the foot, unless your intent was the cuts should have been deeper and broadly matched in competing corrupt agencies and universities.

Sorry, I forgot to include the NASA link in my Comment #71.

Even the Chinese are waking up to the fact that pollution has serious costs, and in the long run avoiding rational regulations, etc. may cost more in the long run.

The typical modern scientist is now a pathological liar.

Belief in Global Warming® protects your grant money.

And gets you invited to the cocktail parties.

We here in New York had the coldest January and February ever recorded.

Who are these people taiking about?

According to warmest doctrine, climate is not weather, except when it is.

You wouldn't understand.

A rational person has to admit the “environmentalists” pushed the political system, to push businesses and local governments, to clean up our water and air.

Yup. And one has to also see that the semi-advised extremism forced solutions that did so in inefficient and ridiculously expensive fashion.

...And now that most is done, they’re steamrolling into the ridiculous, with notable factions advocating genocide beyond Pol Pot.

The point is, there IS no science supporting anthropogenic climate change, never has been -- it's political in origin, and supported by leftist NGOs. EACH TIME the ludicrous claims of the global warming hoaxers have been researched they've been shown to be dead wrong.

The oceans are warming at depth, and it's hiding the excess heat, and it's going to reemerge and bite us all in the ass! Wrong, the oceans get brinier and colder with depth, and they always have, and it's an obvious consequence of known physical laws. That doesn't stop the left from trotting out that drumbeat for years, being proven wrong, then after a decade or so, trotting it out AGAIN (that's going on right now) as if it's a new idea, and remaining wrong.

Meanwhile, since the early 1970s, the industrialized countries of the 1st World -- especially including the US -- have been getting cleaner air and cleaner water, despite the best efforts of Luddites. The reasons China wasn't under the same requirements as the rest of the world, despite being the largest polluter, is that the Luddites know that some of the pollution savings resulted from pushing jobs offshore with so-called environmental protection; the other big reason is, China's Commie, and the leftists don't want another large Commie dictatorship to implode like the USSR.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering if divers found it. To sink that fast my God they had no chance. That area is another Bermuda Triangle.
