"Gas or Charcoal?" The most frequently asked question since "Chicken or Egg?" The flame war between charcoal purists and gas hotheads burns brighter than the debate between Mac and PC users. You should read some of the slop slung on the barbecue message boards. On second thought, don't. Let me try to sort it out for you with a few inflammatory thoughts.

Charcoal Smoker
How is this even a question? For convinced sure. Gas all the way. But if your grilling for quality, it’s not really debatable. Pick your flavor of smoke and go.
Charcoal or back in the house to cook.
CONVENIENCE
Big Green Egg. No contest.
The answer is: it doesn’t matter. The EPA is going to ban ‘em all.
Which means I’ll finally be an outlaw, and my weapons will be a spatula and tongs.
Sam's Club and other stores sell hybrids that do both.

no correct answer. A gas grill is better for everyday cooking, charcoal is better for flavor. I use my gas grill 12 months out of the year. I used the charcoal grill during the summer and fall. BUT, if I had to pick only one, I would go with charcoal.
Charcoal.
Anybody who says otherwise has poor taste buds.
:-)
I have a cute little Weber table-top gas grill. Love it! I’ve even set it on fire a time or two and it keeps on kickin’ it, LOL!
I’m buying Beau a Smoker for his birthday. With all the wild game he harvests (bear, deer, squirrel, rabbit and the occasional cow he hits with the truck, LOL!) we’ll have some awesome jerky in the future!
I have a smoker, charcoal grill and gas grill. Tonight I’m making chicken quarters on the charcoal grill. I use my smoker for slow smoked pulled pork and other meats. I use the gas grill for fish and other stuff that does not take too much time.
Charcoal is best.
A gas grill? You might as well be using the indoor kitchen stove. You’ll get the same taste.
Due to space issues I currently have an electric outdoor grill.
Apparently they have wood burning, propane assisted grills. so we have a hybrid that uses both.
Charcoal, to get the wood in the smoker started.
Yea but at $600+ it oughtta be
Pecan for the smoker, though plum is great for pork.
Charcoal for the grill.
