The 16-year-old Baltimore teen who received the "slap heard round the world" from his mom for participating in Mondays riots admits hes embarrassed.
"I understand how much my mama really cares about me, Michael Singleton said in an interview with "ABC World News Tonight." "I just got to try to do better."
Toya Graham, a single mother of six, was praised as mom of the year for her actions, which were caught on camera by ABC 2 News.
"As long as I have a breath in my body, you will not be on the streets selling drugs, Graham told ABC. Youre just not going to live like that. Not with me.
"She didn't want me to get in trouble [with the] law, Michael acknowledged to CNN. "She didn't want me to be like another Freddie Gray."
I saw that interview and was waiting for somebody to ask the whimpering punk just what he thot he was doing with the hoodie and all. Never happened. Nobody knows including the punk. But getting Mommaslapped just might help steer him in a better direction. And it’s a head jerk for his bros who might be a little more polite now.
I dunno; my guess is that deep down most thugs secretly wish they had someone in their early life that had cared enough to keep the on the straight and narrow...
he would spank us (usually with not too much enthusiasm)
Hmm...lucky you! Mine seemed to enjoy it! I tried real hard to avoid the same mistakes!
I think from his answer, he’d do the same thing all over again.
Now the mother needs to clean up her potty mouth and get a husband.
Thanks dfwgator, I always loved this one
:)
Funny, I don’t believe him for a minute.
I read that she had just lost her job about a week before the riots.
In one way seeing a Black mom with ethics whacking her son for misbehaving was great.
In another way, it was the ghetto female head smashing we see over and over again committed by black ghetto females in parking lots all over the place.
Hitting a child’s head like that - or hitting anyone’s head is serious fighting. She should have been beating his ass...not his head. That is what normal parents do.
It’s not my choice for discipline...not having any children....but the kid *was* wearing a hood. So any head-slapping was cushioned. She didn’t bang his head into the sidewalk.
I wouldn’t attempt to impose my values upon either of them.
If I did, either one of them would kick the crap out of me. Know what I mean?

Not really, he kept that for when my grades came in - he did not like me making C's but those D's really motivated him.
