Why Only a Democrat and Not a Republican or Other Registration Booth?
A CA Guy live in person | 04/22/2014 | A CA Guy

Posted on 04/22/2015 2:13:01 PM PDT by A CA Guy

My wife after 22 years went for her citizenship today and she is happy and proud to be an American. My issue was outside the Los Angeles Convention Center where there was only a Democrat only Registration both.

They give them cards inside as well when they get their certificate, but outside this blazing Democrat only both was going. So right away I wonder, is the Republican Party just lazy? Are Democrats pulling something here or what?

Anyone aware of this kind of thing going on; because either the Democrat party is doing something illegal or the Republicans are lazy and stupid.

Republican Party not trying or the Democrats behaving badly?

3,940 new American citizens coming out for the first time and they get NO representation from Republicans, just bold Democrats trying to register. Why did that happen, was it so tough for the Republican party to afford a permit and staff a booth or are they just lazy?

Seemed like such a wasted opportunity.

They County Central Committee used to set up volunteer tables. I guess it’s getting harder to find volunteers. The Dems are probably paid.

either the Democrat party is doing something illegal or the Republicans are lazy and stupid.

I say "all of the above" that is a trifecta.

When California goes for the gusto and forces enemies of the State to wear the six-pointed star thingees on their clothes, I just wonder if the GOPe star will be a different color from the conservative Republican star...

Democrats have been doing that for years and years.

Even if it was “behaving badly” .. there doesn’t seem to be a current class of repubs who would put a stop to it.

I’ve been concerned about this for years, but every time I would suggest we do something, I get shot down. If that means they’re just too lazy; then why don’t they use the repub seniors who would be happy to show up at the courthouse and give people information regarding what the repubs believe.

This lack of interest in new citizens is a mystery to me.

I’m thinking first that maybe Democrats are pulling something here. “DEMOCRAT ONLY VOTER REGISTRATION”...

Yet again maybe this is more about Republicans not trying to win a single vote and maybe they weren’t screwed here, I do not know.

In the past I would say its because a message of smaller government and self sufficiency didn't resonate with most of these folks. Heck, they usually head straight over to the social services window after their naturalization ceremony.

But the GOP no longer stands for those things. So I have no idea why they have no representation.

Well if I were one of the 3,940 new citizens walking out of there I would get the impression only Democrats want me to be voting and they have interest in me.

That is a horrible message to allow to be out there IMO.

I did get the impression that 65% of the audience were familiar with public assistance.

I totally agree with you.

However, I have no idea where to go or to whom to speak about this terrible injustice.

Surely the repubs aren’t snubbing them. Most new citizens are eager to learn more about America.

What a perfect time to get them started in the right direction.

Amen, where was their both showing interest?

If they could not get permits then there is someone to sue.
If they didn’t care to put up a booth then there are people that need replacing.

It certainly was that way 25 years ago when I attended a ceremony. I imagine its only gotten worse.

When I worked with voter registration with my R county in CA, were told we had to register for other parties if that’s what the person wanted to do. I worked at a public employee union at the time, and they told their members the same thing, except they added that any registrations for republican may get lost.

The Dems are likely government employees collecting their taxpayer funded wages and performing "union activity" as allowed by their contracts. Contracts written, oddly enough, by unions and democrat politicians.

Maybe it’s against the law to have partisan political registration booths there........... so they probably arrested the republican.

It happens all the time and Republicans can't wake up enough to figure it out.

In an election, if the republican voters favorite candidate did not win the nomination....he stays home and doesn't vote.

The Democrat voter, however, votes for the democrat nominee whether or not he/she was favored by him.

Don't vote for McCain, don't vote for Romney...they're rino's, or mormans or whatever....

PRESIDENT Obama says thanks!!!..just stick to your righteous stupidity.

While it is true that GOP operatives are very feckless, it is also true that most new citizens are going to vote Democrat so it stands to reason that they may not want to encourage registering them.
