John Hinckley’s mother has got to be about 87 years old by now. I believe they are working on what to do when she passes. He may end of back at the hospital. His siblings have not so far elected to invite him to their homes.
Of course, those days are long gone. Now, DC is one big spider hole. Look at what happened to Miriam Carey. And we have people screaming that the gyrocopter guy should’ve been shot down.

After a finding of NGRI, treatment is just that--treatment. It is not meant to be punishment or penal confinement. The NG part of NGRI means "not guilty" after all. The Supreme Court has ruled long ago that whatever the reason for confining someone, it must not be for longer than necessary to accomplish its stated purpose.
I know the emotional reaction and frankly don't personally care if he is not released. But under the law, and given the information available, he should be.
