I have 2 Brother printers; love them!

In a prior life I was a television tech (they’re disposable, now). I once was called to a home to look at a nearly new television. When I got there, I discovered it had been shot right through the middle of the picture tube.
The shooting was accidental, it happened years ago, and in a state (Idaho) where police don’t get involved every time a weapon is discharged.
The shooter had the cheek to ask me if the shot picture tube could be replaced under warranty.

Call me old but I’d rather have a dot matrix printer that “just works”.

Geez - I finally got rid of my last dot matrix printer just last year. It was a sad day, but I hadn't used it in years.
You're right - they're bullet-proof. I don't even know if you can get one without a parallel port connection, though.
I think I have 15-20 parallel port cables in a box somewhere. None of my machines can use them...

Priceless article and comments...
By the way...
Texas has no problem with judgment dealt unto under-performing hardware.

Oh yeah. Mine, too. Huge deal when they replaced the 026 keypunch with 029 in the shop. The 029 keypunch could use drum cards, so you could pre-format your FORTRAN and COBOL statements to the correct margin, and put numbers in the 73-80 columns automatically.

Was he charged with Computercide? Of course, I had times with Windows that I wanted to shoot my computer, but I decided to change... Linux.
