Apple Fix for slow Finder after OS X.10.3 upgrade Ping!

After upgrading to OS X 10.10.3, you may find that navigating the Finder can be arduously slow at times, where the contents of folders you open may take a while to display, and otherwise scrolling and navigating may be overall sluggish. If this occurs, then you can likely fix it by clearing some Finder-related cache information from your Mac.
Caches are small databases of frequently accessed resources that a program can access far quicker than having to locate and parse this information directly from locations on disk, or which store specific URLs and other Web resources that a program may use for accessing an online account or other data. While they usually enhance performance, if damaged then caches may do the exact opposite.
Next, try manually clearing some of the caches that may be relevant to the Finder. These include those for the Finder as well as related services like iCloud Drive. The caches for these services are located in your user library, so get to them by holding the Option key and choosing Library from the Go menu in the Finder. In the folder that opens, go to the Caches directory. In here, consider removing the following cache files and folders:
When done, log out of your user account and log back in, or optionally just restart your Mac, and see if the Finder slowdowns persist.
A second factor that might be at play here is Apple’s Spotlight indexing routines for Finder searches, where after upgrading or updating a system, Spotlight may attempt to index new items and get hung up when doing so. To clear these problems, you can force your Mac to rebuild the Spotlight index by adding your boot drive to Spotlight’s privacy list, followed by removing it. This may then take a few hours to rebuild, but after which the Finder and services that use Spotlight indexing may show faster performance.

How do i get my i photo album back? I lost around 4 thousand pictures
I’ve heard of a lot of other problems people are having with OS X 10.10.3, especially with the Photo app that replaces IPhoto. Any comments? Will Apple address these issues with a 10.10.4?

If you are talking about not having your photos in the new Photo application, iPhone should still be on your computer in your Application folder and your photos should still be in it. You have to import your photos into the Photo App. Nothing should have been deleted. Check and see,
What kind of problems? I haven't heard of any in particular. Most of the reviews have been glowing. It is a new application and there is a small learning curve. iPhoto is still on the computers in the Application folder for those who prefer to use it and all photographs should still be in iPhoto.
Damn auto correct. That shoulld read "iPhone" = iPhoto should still be in your computer in your applications folder. . . "

In the app store where Yosemite is available for download, under “learn more” there are a number of comments by people who have had various problems. That’s what I was referring to. Based on these, I’m holding off upgrading to Yosemite until it seems more “trouble-free”. Any information you have would be appreciated.
I rely heavily on scanning documents as pdfs in my business. Use fujitsu scansnap. Since OS X 10.10 upgrade: can no longer print pdf’s which were generated through scansnap. (can print other pdfs) Scansnap released an upgrade which makes things even worse; with the upgrade, scanner now has 20 second delay before scanning a page. Using my older computer which does not yet have OS X 10.10: no problems; the scanners work like they should. Hope that Fujitsu and Apple can fix this major problem.

The adoption of OS X.10 Yosemite is approaching 20% of Mac users which means 20 million users out of which 178 complained of problems so far to the OS X.10.3 upgrade. That is a remarkably small number of complaints compared to the already installed base. . . and indicative of individual hardware issues and loose nuts on the keyboard (i.e. user ignorance and/or learning issues) than anything than anything endemic in the OS or upgrade.
Many of the complaints I read seem to be of the "I don't know how to use Photo like i know how to use iPhoto" such as the one I read where the fellow was complaining about no geotagging or keyword tagging. . . both are present in Photo.
I did a Google search for OS X.10 Yosemite problems and it was remarkably free of issues complaints. To me, it looks as if Yosemite is one of the solider upgrades Apple has ever released.
Can you see the PDFs on screen? You should. Apple uses Visual PDF for display purposes system wide. If you can see it you can print it. Try bringing it up in Preview and printing from there. That might be a workaround until Fujitsu and Apple fix the issue. Also check to see if Print and Scan sees your scanner in Preferences and try using Apple's built in scanning software.
I made the mistake of ‘upgrading’ from Maverick to Yosemite. Wish I could turn back the clock. Do not like it, run into little glitches often.
I’m running 10.10.1 and am not going any farther.
Two days ago I lost, intermittently but about 90% of the time, my ability to run YouTube videos. Have tried most things.
Funny part is, if I drag the cursor across the progress bar I can see icon size windows of the video as stills.
Won’t run though.
Making me crazy.

The .2 and .3 releases are way better than .1. I suggest you push forward on the ascent of Yosemite.

The Missus claims 10.10.3 has made the iMac slower. I’m wondering if that was due to the initial transfer of photos, now that I think of it. I’ll have to ask her how it’s been more recently.
It most definitely HAS fixed the WiFi issues on my MacBook.
OS X.19.2 and 10.3 fix a lot of the issues that your release had. You need to install the upgrades.
I’m running OSx 10.6.8 and everything is ok, so I don’t upgrade.

I have many gigs of pictures in albums.
As I understand 10.10.3 totally rearranges iPhoto into another new editor suite. Have seen many comments concerning the iPhoto/Photo trouble
I had a hard time xferring everything from Snow Leopard to Maverick . Don’t want to take the chance on another barely compatible move. Esp since you can’t go back to the original.
