I don't get big game sport hunting. But in the end, recently we had a story about a zoo that killed a giraffe because they had too many, nobody else needed or wanted one, and it was a needless expense.

As for her posing by lying with the dead animal, I have heard of hunters doing this, a simple expression of unconscious identification.

Has anybody seen the film of Topsy the elephant who was killed by electrocution at Coney Island in 1903? Now THAT was an inhumane death. (and no, Edison was not present or involved, despite folklore.)
