I figured that the death penalty would be off the table - premeditation would be almost impossible to prove. Beyond that...? LOL, flip it around and have the cop shot dead as he was running away, you'd see murder one so fast it would make your head spin.
Beyond that, the cop will get double-secret probation, some therapist hand-holding and a fat pension, what else? All cop badges are 007 now, didn't you know that?
