Well them I can complain about Linux all day. That is hard as crap on me when I haven’t used it in a while. And really hurting create new account was pretty obvious to me. Like a lot of things experience makes a difference.

1-— Most users don’t know or want to know how to right click a url link to open in new tab or new window

2-— don’t want to know how to use multiple tabs within a Firefox browser window

3-—refuse to use auto-hide for their taskbar

4-— could not in a million years download and install “Start 8” to modify Windows 8 to where it is supremely useable on their laptop. I do this for them

Some hyperboe, but i get the point. What manufacturers should do is customize the PC to do all these things (with Start 8 or Classic Shell for W/8), including hot keys which would speed up tech support (how many users even know what Win key and Pause/Break brings up, or what Run>dxdiag shows?). This would create a demand for that brand name.

99% of the Windows 8 confusion and popular put downs it gets it from no start button PLUS the first thing they see is that lock screen and tiles

Right. And never think of searching the web for a solution. Or right clicking on a phrase and choosing "search...

Yet FR users must learn a little HTML at least. And i use the BBCodeXtra extension, and add custom scripts to do that for me, versus my slow stiffened fingers.

I prefer the flatness aka non-transparency of Win 8 to the transparency of win 7. This same GUI/simple signage was adopted across Microsoft websites. All for unifying users perceptions and brand loyalty.
BTW the win 7 transparent look uses system resources thus was cut out. It was instituted to compete w Apples slick GUI. So 8’s flat look allows for resources to be deployed to more worthy areas

This 8 GUI was extended to forced use of the tiles by laptop and desktop users which was a fatal mistake that MS could have been fully corrected in early updates but refused too

Sometimes the Windows key helps me break up a minor freeze or log jam on a browser window. Never used pause break key or Run>dxdiag. But I did just run dxdiag to see what it showed

And a Pentagon computer connected and asked, "Do you want to play?"
