You see it everywhere. It hasn’t been the same since the Regan influence.

Have you seen the price of bacon and bologna lately?

With that, I think I finally Understand Liberals/Progressives/Communists, they would burn this country to the ground so long as they could be Kings of the Ashes.

Nutshell. :(

I worked for a small business for 20 years and then I started my own. When I made money I contributed to my 401K, but since starting my own business, in this economy, I am lucky to pay my bills, forget 401K contributions. Two stock market crashes dented my mutual funds seriously.

Obama Easter Feast

Place 5 pounds of Asian crap in large non-metallic bowl.
By hand, knead-in bag of bread crumbs, cup of ketchup, 1/2 cup of diced onions. 6 oz. Worchester sauce and tablespoon of Chinese 5 spice.
Roll out onto seasoned pine board.
Bake at 300 degrees for 55 minutes.
Allow to cool.
Scrape Asian crap off pine board and saw board into individual servings.
Bon appetit!

I haven’t bought any bacon in two years. Baloney costs about 2 dollars a pound here.

“There is more to life than working 50 to 60 hours a week so you can give thousands and thousands of dollars to a government that completely wastes it.”

Well said. My thoughts exactly in 2008 and now, and why I went `Galt Jr.’ three years ago. Starve the beast.

As long as you didn’t sell those mutual funds, you should be OK

I had to have a filling g replaced which turned into a crown. Out of pocket was $800 WITH my insurance. And I’ve got a good job for the past (almost) 10 years.

My family eats lots of crock pot stuff to stretch for lunch for the next day (3 adults 3 kids, my dad lives with us).

My wife recently quit her job.

My truck has 16 payments left, or so.

My wife’s is just 1 year into payments.

We’re cutting back on everything.

Heck she went from Bud Light to Keystone light to NATURAL light because Natty light is $2 cheaper a 30 pack. (Ive quit drinking.. just can afford it, nor do I need it).

Haven’t been to an eye doctor in 7 years, so I know my prescription is out of date... probably need bifocal and can’t afford them.

Life is a race, and I’mma keep running it, but boy, uphill in a windstorm is not what I had in mind.

At least retirement won’t be too bad... I’m mid 40s with over 100k in there and putting 10% or so away each payday. Really only savings I’ve got.

Keep up the good job of socking away 10%. You will be happy upon reaching retirement. I did similar things during my working years.

It’s obscene that the middle class is being forced to pay for benefits to others that they can no longer afford buy for themselves without even a “by-your-leave” or even a “thank-you.”

Not only no “thank you”, they are snickering and laughing at the gullible working stiffs who drag their butt to work every morning, while they can smoke pot and rob cigars from small store owners.

the overlords especially don't want the sheeple to be in the national parks, or forests, or on rivers or lakes...and they don't want them on their golf courses...

its about them having more and the sheeple having less...

sounds like you're a govt worker or retiree....

you know the number of people including me that have no guarantee defined pension is growing exponentially....

its all well and good to know that you can Never be fired...and that you're retirement can never go away with bankruptcy and that you'll always have it....

millions and millions don't have that luxury...

Some of you have this air of moral superiority about you and your luck in life....

believe me, if we knew then what we know now, both of us would have done govt work meaningless or not instead of working the private sector, since the govt system can never fire you, and you are just guaranteed every holiday, great vacation, bennies and the pension at 20-30 yrs...

and believe me, most people would not willingly devote decades of their working lives to a company only to have that company go bankrupt and loose their entire retirement...

bad things have happened to millions and millions thru no fault of their own and yet there are those that think they're just smarter, more moral, more handsome because they didn't get hit with the hard knocks of life....

small minds and small hearts...

You know, I feel for people who lost all of their 401k because their company went bankrupt. I knew a lot of people who lost everything because they worked for Enron and everything they ha invested was in Enron company stock. When it comes to investing, there is a simple concept that I was lucky enough to have my parents teach me at a pretty young age..... that concept is "don't put all of your eggs in one basket."

I have always lived by that concept. Where I have been most lucky was my parents. My parents were great. That was the luck of the draw. But I know with people with great parents who struggle all of their lives. There is a luck element, but largely life is what we make it.

My wife and I worked very hard for a lot of years. Many hours. But we were doing the Dave Ramsey thing before anyone ever heard of Dave Ramsey. That's not luck... that's called sacrafice.

I tell people, save your money, give your tithe to the church, and don't live above your means. And, don't put all of your eggs in one basket. And with a little bit of luck it will work out for you.

Definitely; Commissar Bloomberg didn’t even hide his contempt for us little people when he pushed for “congestion pricing” in lower Manhattan - he wanted a playground for wealthy people.

THANK YOU!

The middle class needs to stop spending on items they can’t afford to pay off and need to stop blowing money on a posh lifestyle and SHOULD stop taking out loans for school if they can’t afford it! How many don’t even TRY to build a work history and don’t even WANT to learn a practical trade. It’s not the fault of people on welfare or the 1% to save the irresponsible from the mistakes they make and of their own financial ignorance.

No one on welfare FORCES members of the middle class to max out credit cards or live beyond their means or take a worthless course for their degree.

You apparently don't know that when you have a 401k the company could keep it all in their stock. You did not have a choice about where your 401k was invested.

I believe that has changed now but at the time if you worked for Enron your 401k went up and down with Enron.

They said it gave the employees "ownership".
