For me, at 110 lbs, open carry is the only solution for anything bigger than a .22 jennings in the summer. I've got special needs and I'm not jumping through all those hoops again every time I meet someone that is 'sure' they have a better solution. ;)
But that's just me.

Hope you're OK.
'Course I feel the same way about the Walther .380.
The OP was asking for advice and if he or she is choosing .380 for compactness then a Ruger,S&W, Sig or Colt have smaller, thinner pistols.
If recoil is the deciding factor then the Bersa would be a good choice. Not too small and easier to handle than the mouse guns.
The other factor is availability of .380. It's more expensive than, say, 9 mm and much harder to get. During the last big panic it was virtually impossible to find.
.380s can be a handy little pistol. Had 2 Colt Mustang Pocket Lites that I really liked but had to sell when I was in school.
I've heard that Colt is making them again.
Good to hear from you JRandom. Hope you are okay.
Wow! Here is somebody who does not instantly assume to be Mr. Know-it-all for everybody else. Just Wow!
