Strange things happen. My father in-law was a outfitter out of Evanston Wyoming, he passed away while up in the mountains on a elk hunt. When we arrived in Evanston they were still trying to get him off the mountain. When we got to his house there were 5 moose in his front yard. We had to go around to the side door because one bull was standing right in front of the main door. They stayed in his yard for almost 30 hours and didn’t leave until he was taken to the funeral home. Later I found out that in all his years as an outfitter he would never hunt moose, said he felt sorry for them because they were so easy to hunt. It was a heck of a honor guard to witness.

Reminds me of the military funeral in which the dog the person who died took care of was by the casket.
