Your biggest childhood fear(s)?

Posted on 03/29/2015 9:07:05 PM PDT by MNDude

Almost everyone had something that freaked them out or downright terrified them when they were kids-- a neighbor's big dog, sleestaks on TV, or the monster in the closet?

Tell your story of what most scared you as a kid.

The perfectly smooth, waveless circle on the surface of the water over the intake pipe at the big reservoir near my house.

Wasps. Hated them.

Not bees, bumble bees, spiders or zombies — just wasps.

I was thirty years old before I could be in a room with more than one without freaking out.

If thought one got in the car, its off the road for me.

Now not so much but I still hate the buggers.

I was 13 when the Michigan Murders took place in the Ann Arbor area. It freaked me out. I had a difficult time sleeping because the victims were knifed to death and that’s all I could see when I closed my eyes. My dog slept on my bed and protected me.

Pigs. Hate em and scared of em. Love to eat em.

When I was about 5 years old we visited my Dad’s friend’s farm and I was running around playing with the other kids. A huge brood sow chased me into the barn and I climbed up on a stack of bales of hay and screamed bloody murder til my Dad came. I don’t know if that old brood sow was really chasing me or I just got in the way of where she was going but I still remember it.

Monster in the closet? Rubbish! When I was a kid all the kids knew that the monster was under your bed! Never let your arm dangle over the side of the bed or the monster will grab it and drag you under the bed.

Ha! I so much remember that feeling. Your rational mind knows it is so unlikely a someone or something will grab your dangling hand, especially since you checked under the bed before going to bed. Yet, you fully realize how absolutely horrible it would be if it does happen.

At age five, when my parents were out of town, an aged aunt took me to the circus. We sat right down in the front row.

This CLOWN comes by, and a HATCH OPENS IN HIS HEAD AND A CUKOO COMES OUT AT ME.

Clowns are evil, pure and simple. A grown man who hides his identity from children, in a terrifying fashion.
