A born performer! The incredible moment baby starts clapping in the womb

Rhythm isn't something most babies are born with. But this one - which is yet to be born - seems to have it in abundance.

In this incredible video of an ultrasound scan, the 14-week-old foetus appears to clap its hands together, as the mother sings If You're Happy And You Know It Clap Your Hands.

The parents can be heard laughing in the background as the doctor then rewinds the tape to make it look like that baby was clapping along to their singing.

The 15-second video that was uploaded to YouTube yesterday by Jen Cardinal, who is based in the UK, has already racked up more than 48,000 views.

Under the post, Jen writes: 'At our 14 week ultrasound our baby was clapping, so I sang a song with our doctor as my husband filmed.'

‘The experience is one I’ll never forget. The baby clapped three times, then the doctor rewound and scrubbed it while we sang. No mystery. It was amazing,’ she wrote on YouTube.

Rhythm isn't something most babies are born with

Especially the white ones.

Send that to Planned Parenthood.

I hate to rain on anyone’s parade here, but the FDA warns against using ultrasound to make movies because of the unknown effects on the fetus.

http://www.fda.gov/ForConsumers/ConsumerUpdates/ucm095508.htm

The bottom line is that if there is no medical need, don’t expose the fetus.

“hate to rain on anyone’s parade here, but the FDA warns against using ultrasound to make movies because of the unknown effects on the fetus.”

Balderdash. Think for a second. Demi’s absolutely want to prevent ANY MOTHER from seeing their baby in the womb, so they can continue the abortions. Once a woman sees her baby, she is much less likely to abort.

That’s what it is about.

I applaud your tag line, but you have to realize the snares they set are vast and disparate, and against your betterment.

Oh, and it is not a “fetus”. It is a baby. A real, living human being.

I know exactly what a fetus is. Fetus is Latin for “unborn baby” and, in Latin, sometimes referred to a newborn.

The FDA warning is against ultrasound for non-medical reasons, especially ultrasound movies. Actually, the FDA does acknowledge the bonding experience this provides for expecting parents.

The problem is that the ultrasound can cause something called cavitation. This is the formation of bubbles. You can see the process if you swoosh your hands or feet really fast through water, those bubbles that form behind your hand or foot. You can also cause cavitation by setting a bottle of water down really hard, bubbles form briefly at the bottom. That process occurring in the tissues of a developing fetus, especially for prolonged periods of time (as in during movie making), has the potential of doing permanent damage.

I’m all for forcing abortionists to show women high-quality ultrasound images prior to pressuring them into having an abortion.

This isn’t about that. This is about ultrasounds for non-medical purposes.

Between my two pregnancies, I had one ultrasound. That was because I had complications and could have lost the baby. I am not, and have never been, convinced that ultrasounds are perfectly safe.
