'Spectre' teaser trailer promises darkest Bond movie yet

Daniel Craig is back as the ultra suave secret British spy James Bond in the first official teaser trailer for the newest upcoming installment, Spectre.

The trailer doesn't give away much of the plot line, but does leave a few hints in regards to what fans of the series can expect to find.

For example, it's obvious from the trailer that Bond will have to confront the darkest secrets of his past as he's roped into investigating, and probably infiltrating, a secret evil organization that seems to take its tones from Lord Voldemort's Death Eater dinners seen in the Harry Potter films.

While the rest of the plot seems to have been foregone in the first trailer, there were smaller Bond elements that found their way on screen within the brief minute and a half window. Attractive women, grandeur scenery, and expensive Aston Martin's being driven through small street alleys certainly prevail in providing just the right type of atmosphere for a Bond movie.

Oh, right, there's also Craig sporting a turtleneck for reasons no one can quite comprehend.

Spectre is slated to hit theaters globally on November 6, 2015.

I like the new Bond. I thought Casino Royale was the best of the new ones.

A good lighting guy could fix that ...

I like that they are getting back to fighting Spectre. I don’t like the “Dark Knight” theatrics. Bond is supposed to be suave, debonair with a dry wit that gives off a chuckle. I don’t need to know his dark secrets of his past.

If there are any two descriptive words that immediately turn me off in terms of film/tv advertising and exploitation, one of them is “dark.” The other is “edgy.”

It’s usually indicative of little more than cloying levels of self-consciousness and detached irony.

I watched the last Bond movie, with Craig in the starring role, with high expectations based on the reviews I read here. I was disappointed. Craig’s face had the range of expression of a mannequin and the plot holes were incredible. The underwater fight that happened at night - you could have read newspaper print - pushed me out of the “suspension of disbelief” zone entirely.

I agree. "Dark" and "edgy" have become buzzwords. It's gonna be gritty! No holds barred! You're in for some serious double-nought spy-stuff!

It's a movie.

Its a friggin' movie for gosh sake. If you want realism in your life go to Iraq, Syria,Yemen or some middle eastern vacation spot.

I choose not to support anything Daniel Craig related after his Anti-2A rants. He’s just like Liam Neeson, total hypocrite.

It is a movie, but when that kind of thing keeps piling up, it gets tedious.

The Bond franchise is dead to me now. They turned Bond ambiguously gay in the last one and the next one or the one after he will be full on bisexual.

I did also, but the next 2 reverted back to the old nonsense.

Quantum of Solace was the worst of them, though Skyfall had the largest plot holes. I’m holding out hope for Spectre.

Any Bond afficianado MUST watch “Danger Man” with “...My name is Drake, John Drake” Patrick McGoohan.
It was a half-hour British spy show and is on Youtube. Watch an episode after the first 20, it took a while for them to perfect, mainly because of the 1/2 hour time IMO. Though it is done very well once they did get the hang of it.

There is cinema’s ‘non-campy’ James Bond- only he doesn’t get the women, though they all fall for him.

I’ve been watching the hour-long “Danger Man / Secret Agent” episodes in order, all this past month. Top-notch series in every way. Honestly, I’d take John Drake over Bond any day of the week.

The half-hour episodes are great too. About as compact and brilliantly efficient in terms of 25-minute storytelling as can be. Plots, characterizations, and thrills. It was a true work of art to pack all that into such a tight and satisfying package, as they used to in those days. Modern hour-long series seem thin and wanting in comparison.
