Heinz is buying Kraft Foods to create the world's fifth largest food and beverage company, with sales of about $28 billion.
Kraft shares surged more than 33% Wednesday.
Kraft owns popular brands such as Jell-O, Maxwell House coffee and Planters peanuts. Heinz, of course, is famous for its ketchup, and also owns Lea & Perrins and Ore-Ida.

Their product line hard to believe is not much redundant
Heinz ketchup and Kraft cheeses are two things I prefer in their genre
Kraft is the very best non esoteric cheddar....the extra sharp Cracker Barrel is best mass produced cheddar
I guess this means Secretary of State Kerry will be doing more yachting with his wife than paying attention to US Foreign Policy (which is collapsing like a House of Cards).
Hahaha! Loser research foundation.....I’m wondering if the loss of competition of mega-monopolies is not such a good thing.
Try the black label NY Special Reserve. I only buy it when it’s $4/lb.
Everyone should look at what Kraft Foods did on the market yesterday... ticker symbol KRFT. Time to cash out and celebrate with some Kraft Dinner.
I just bought some the other day ...6oz bar was $1.89 ....I wish they made a 8oz bar. ;)
ick on the massive concentration of power, too.
What? No antitrust challenges from the feds? Huh?!
Well, like or not they have every right to merge.
Break out the gin soaked raisins, Theresa is comin’ to town.

Gezz, do I now have to add Kraft to my boycott list? I hate the idea of feeding John Boy.
I recently retired sargento and I like it better now.
Tried bit retired
That is news to me that they reduced to 6oz blocks.
I always shop by unit price, with BIG TIME demerits going to companies that think they are being so clever by changing the packaging to non-standard increments.
I will never buy Haagen-Daaz again because they now sell 14oz “pints”. F ‘em.
I refuse to buy Sargento products... it’s been so long I forget why... I think because they dropped sponsorship of someone on the radio I used to listen to... I think maybe it was Glenn Beck.
I picked up Shur-fine branded Mac-n-Cheese boxes for 10 cents each last week. The Exp date on the box was 3-17-2015, so they wanted to move it out of the store. How pasta and powdered cheese mix in sealed packaging might “go bad” who knows? Still the same, I got 10 boxes for a dollar. I just wish it didn’t have the yellow food coloring in it.
