SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah Gov. Gary Herbert gave his stamp of approval Monday to a law that brings back the firing squad in the only state that has used it in the past 40 years.
Under the law, firing squads will be a backup method if lethal injection drugs aren't available.
Utah and other states have struggled to keep up their inventories as European manufacturers opposed to capital punishment refuse to sell the components of lethal injections to U.S. prisons.

Why are we dependent on European manufacturers for these drugs in the first place? There are no American companies which supply these items??? How did that situation arise???
They could work on more gun control laws and limit this....but then we’d just resort to hanging, and you’d have to corner the entire rope industry and make people sign purchase agreements on rope usage....to render hangings obsolete.

IIRC, one of the shooters has a fake bullet....
They give the condemned a .50 caliber tracer round — and a blowtorch.
Why no use of nitrogen chamber? Not messy, no poking, no weird chemicals, no pain, perp just dozes off.
The problem is,the fake(blank)has no recoil.The live rounds do.Any shooter will be able to tell the difference.

When I taught the kids how to shoot, I would occasionally put a snap-cap in the magazine, in some random order with the live rounds. There is nothing that reveals 'flinching' like pulling the trigger on a round that goes click!
I’m more on board with the perp getting off’ed the same way he killed his victims.

Why not go to the police evidence room and get some of that high purity heroin from Mexico.Inject an overdose of that stuff,problem solved.

I didn’t think it up...I just said what I’ve heard in the past. Could be wrong or right. Heck, for all I know it could be a rubber bullet or something.
