Is it legal in NY for a school to issue an "anonymous" survey to students asking about their family's gun ownership, access to firearms and other questions? This was given to my son today. I am furious about the intrusion, the manipulation of our children and the sliminess of how it was done. I am collecting information to formulate a response to the school. Anyone out there know if this kind of survey is even legal?
The correct answer is “break into my home some night and you’ll find out”.
But you sent them anyway? That's the part that's mind-boggling to me...
NY is a perfect example of the new communists Democrat run empire. Enjoy!
Since it’s anonymous, not under oath, and probably optional sure. You can ask a lot of questions about stuff that’s none of your business if you do it right. Your best response is to just throw it out, that’s what they’ll do with your response if it’s anything other than just answering the questions.
We had a smoking/ drug/ alcohol survey in high school. I had fun with it.
The solution is to deny and teach your children to deny these things.
We told our children to respond to questions about home life, gun ownership, etc by saying, “you need to ask my parents about that.” My plan if ever asked has always been to turn it back on them. They ask, “Do you have guns in your home?” I reply “Do you?”, with a smile.
My kids know not to answer personal questions without thinking. If a doctor asks about guns, they say we don’t have any and then tell me so we can find a new doctor (it happened, and the new doctor is a better physician besides not being inappropriately intrusive). If the schools ask, they would give the same answer and then tell me (it hasn’t happened at school. Yet).
Call a lawyer now
It is Moral to misinform the enemy to protect the innocent.
he might not have been able to afford a private school.
and, they make it all but impossible to home school.
in addition, the marxists decades long effort to make sure woman have to work, keeps both parents out of the house so that not only does the government raise your kids, but you couldn’t home school anyway with both parents working.
“If you see something, say something.”
fredo..I love you...but never take sides against the family with anyone...EVER...LOL
This is a great opportunity to teach your son how to avoid villains. Even in the 1960s, scoundrels foisted horribly twisted surveys on children, with the intent of generating lies that the scoundrels would use to try and change public policy.
And even back then, 5th graders could see through the scam, with many refusing to participate. The teacher’s response was to tell them, with considerable cynicism, that it didn’t matter what the students wrote on the surveys, even if they left them blank, because it would be adjusted to fit the purpose of the scoundrels.
In this case, assuming that you have guns, instruct your son to say that you do not. Just in case the survey is not as anonymous as it says it is.
Let him know that the people behind this survey are a dangerous form of evil. They are utterly ruthless, and if given the opportunity would hurt or destroy your family. So this is no joke.
Under no circumstance should he ever tell strangers information about his family. If they might have a legitimate reason, direct them to talk to the parents.
The bottom line is that they are just another form of “stranger danger”.
Toss it in the garbage.
Yes, that’s reality for you...
I have no problem having them lie outright; they get a good understanding of the relationship between the tribe and the state.
No, that’s not better. Sometimes you get hit with a no-win situation. Fight the battle anyway and inflict reasons for them to not go there again.
